What's new in this release?

LiveCompare 2026.1 includes the following new features:

Impact Analysis Results app

  • The Impact Analysis Results app lets you examine impact analysis results that LiveCompare records automatically. You can examine the impactful objects to see which executables they affect, decide which executables belong in the test scope, and decide what to do with executables that don’t have any covering tests.

  • The app generates a Test Planning Report which summarizes the test scope and test selection decisions for the selected analysis.

AI assistants

  • LiveCompare’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server lets AI assistants use the Model Context Protocol to interact with LiveCompare. The LiveCompare MCP server lets you ask questions about impact analysis runs and impact analysis review decisions.

  • The MCP Access Token screen allows you to manage your organization’s MCP access tokens.

  • The Get Administration Objects action’s McpUsage object type retrieves usage details for the LiveCompare Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Templates

Value Dashboard

  • The Value Dashboard tells you the cost and time savings you gain from using LiveCompare to analyze the impact of SAP changes to your systems. It’s based on your use of LiveCompare’s impact analysis apps and workflows.

Test Repositories

The Search Test Repository action supports SAP Cloud ALM Test Repositories for test hits and gaps analysis (preview only).

Platform

  • The Convert Data action’s TableDefinition_Table conversion type converts a table definition to a Table dataset with the specified columns.

  • When converting a table to an RFC Destination, the Convert Data action considers the first table row only, and finds the RFC Destination stored in the table’s Name column. This allows the action to convert RFC Destination names returned by the Get Administration Objects action.

  • When converting a table to a ServiceNow, the Convert Data action considers the first table row only, and finds the ServiceNow stored in the table’s Name column. This allows the action to convert ServiceNow names returned by the Get Administration Objects action.

  • The Create Test Execution action returns an empty Result dataset for unsupported Test Repository types (Azure Dev Ops, Certify, Excel, SAP Solution Manager, Tosca Cloud and Xray).

  • By default, the Execute Test Cases action waits for 30 seconds after it checks in the test event, and before it checks out the test execution to run it. You can adjust this value using a registry setting.

  • The Get Performance History Data action obtains type information for raw performance history data records from an RFC Destination’s Object Links Cache database. If an RFC Destination doesn’t have an Object Links Cache database, the action obtains the type information directly from SAP.

  • The Uses What action for Functions (FUNC) performs lookups in the SAP WBCROSSGT table.

  • The Uses What and Uses What (Read Only) actions for Enhancement Objects (ENHO) retrieve the Business Add-In - Implementations (SXCI) that they reference.

  • The Where Used and Where Used (Read Only) actions for Business Add-In - Implementations (SXCI) retrieve the Enhancement Objects (ENHO) that reference them.

  • The Configuration - General screen’s TestRfcTableName field allows you to specify the table that the Collect Service Status job reads for each RFC Destination linked to a Pipeline. The default table is TAPLT. If you change this value, make sure that the new table is accessible to LiveCompare. If LiveCompare can’t read the table for an RFC Destination, the Service Status screen will flag every Pipeline that uses the RFC Destination as having issues.

  • The Configuration - Impact Analysis screen includes an EnableCrossReference field. To prevent long runtimes, an Administrator must set this field to Y to allow the Analyze Object Links action, the Smart Impact app and the Smart Impact Analysis workflow to generate Cross Reference data.

  • We added BKGJ - Background Job to the Types to Find list in the Configuration - Impact Analysis screen as an unselected object type.

  • RFC Destinations have a Use SNC SSO switch. Select this for RFC Destinations that use a secure network connection with single sign-on. In this case, LiveCompare passes the SNC_SSO=1 flag to SAP.

  • Connection tests for Learning RFC Destinations and Test Repositories always pass.

  • The Configuration Wizard’s Administrators Only Delete Workflow Archives option allows workflow archives to be deleted only by users with LiveCompare Administrator permissions.

  • Impact analyses support the Service Definition (SRVD) object type.

Security

  • We fixed a problem in the Change Password for user screen where the server didn’t validate the user’s old password. The screen now reports an appropriate error message if the user provides an invalid password, or if an attacker sets the old password to <blank> in the generated API request.

  • We fixed a problem which allowed a user without Administrator permissions to view and download an RFC Destination’s Tables to Ignore via its URL on the LiveCompare server.

  • We fixed a problem where the /livecompare/studio/app/eds/phd_save.asp endpoint accepted invalid file extensions.

Single sign-on (SSO)

  • LiveCompare performs additional validation checks when users sign in using SSO.

  • The Guided Configuration - SSO screen includes additional required fields for your identity provider’s issuer URL and signing certificate.

Test Repositories

  • For ALM Test Repositories, the Search Test Repository action’s Result dataset includes TEST_LIST_ID, TEST_LIST_NAME and TEST_LIST_PATH columns. These store the ID, name, and path of the Execution List or Test Set for each Test Hit.

  • For ALM Test Repositories, the Smart Impact app creates Test Sets grouped by rank, for example, LiveCompare Tests - High and LiveCompare Tests - Medium. If you set the HighRankCustomTests field to X in the Configuration - Test Repository screen’s ALM section, the Smart Impact app stores tests that cover custom SAP executables in the <Test Set name> - High Test Set.

  • If you set the HighRankCustomTests field to X in the Configuration - Test Repository screen’s ALM section, LiveCompare ranks ALM tests that cover at least one custom executable as H (High) in the Search Test Repository action’s Result dataset.

  • For Excel Test Repositories, the Search Test Repository action’s Result dataset includes COMMON_TERMS and CONFIDENCE columns.

  • Tosca Test Repositories have a Test Data Repository search method. This search method can be used where the following apply:

    • A Test Data Service (TDS) type in the Test Data Repository stores an identifying element of the SAP executables to be tested (for example, the Launchpad tile text of a Fiori app).

    • A Tosca Test Case refers to the TDS type.

    In this case, LiveCompare matches the Test Case with the executable from the Search Test Repository action’s Source table. This search method works with Tosca REST Test Repositories only.

  • The Configuration - Test Repository screen’s TestsPerList field allows you to specify the maximum number of tests that the Create Test Execution action will create in a Tosca Execution List. If the number of tests exceeds this limit, the action will create additional Execution Lists as needed. If you leave this setting blank or set it to 0, the action will store all tests in a single Execution List.

  • The Search Test Repository action supports OpenText ALM Octane Test Repositories for test Hits and Gaps analysis (preview only).

User interface

  • We fixed a problem with the layout of the Change Password for User screen in the case where an Administrator had configured LiveCompare to require strong passwords.

  • In the Dashboard screen, the Apps Hub icon Apps Hub icon. provides access to apps, reports, and monitoring utilities.

  • In the Dashboard screen, the Tools icon Tools icon. provides access to LiveCompare's system tools and utilities.

  • We redesigned the Data Cleanser screen.

  • We redesigned the Process Runs screen in the apps interface.

  • We simplified the text in the Service Status screen.

  • We redesigned the Login screen to include a Forgot your password? link for non single sign-on (SSO) users.

  • LiveCompare displays an informative message rather than an error if a new SSO user signs in and an Administrator hasn't assigned them to one or more existing Resource Groups.

  • We fixed a problem where LiveCompare didn’t require new users to change their password if an Administrator had selected their User must change password at next logon check box.

  • We updated the tail function in the Logs screen to display no more than 100 lines.

  • LiveCompare displays a confirmation message when you delete a workflow in the hierarchy.

  • In the Configuration - General screen, the SessionTimeoutMinutes field specifies the number of minutes a user's web session can be inactive before they must sign in again. The default value is 15.

Performance

Accessibility

  • In the Data Grid control, a screen reader can read a table’s description when the focus is in the table’s column header.

  • In the Quick Compare Wizard and Variant screen, a screen reader can read the group labels.

  • In the Variant screen, a screen reader can read the labels for Table parameter input fields.

  • In the Variant screen, a screen reader can read the Distribute Results to label.

  • In the Variant screen, a screen reader can read the labels for IMG Select List parameter combo boxes.

  • In the Variant screen, a screen reader can read the labels for switch buttons.

  • In the Studio interface, a screen reader can read toolbar buttons correctly.

  • In the Create Variant and Rename Variant dialogs, LiveCompare constrains keyboard focus to the fields in each dialog.

  • A screen reader can read button tooltips.

  • In the Service Status screen, keyboard focus starts from the Skip to main content section.

  • In the Excel and CSV report viewer, we use a theme with a higher contrast ratio between the text and the background to improve the readability of text in the spreadsheet tabs.

Performance history data upgrades

  • When you upgrade to this release from LiveCompare 2024.1 or earlier, the Configuration Wizard does the following:

    • It separates each RFC Destination’s performance history databases into separate databases for performance history data, SCM data, and DUA data.

    • It removes your old performance history databases.

    The Configuration Wizard logs these changes in the cfgwiz-install-log.txt file. It records the conversion of each RFC Destination’s performance history database, and the removal of each old database.

Fixes

  • We fixed a problem with the Code Watch app where it used a hardcoded RFC Destination name.

  • We fixed a problem with the Code Watch app, where we hardcoded an RFC Destination in a subworkflow.

  • We fixed a problem with the Configurator Impact Analysis workflow which caused a no such column: TESTED_OBJECT error.

  • We fixed a problem with the SAP HANA Upgrade Analysis app where it didn’t pass the As-Is system to the a called workflow.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app where it didn’t find the BADI Enhancement Object (ENHO) that impacted a Transaction (TCOD).

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app where changes to a BADI object in a User Exit didn’t report the associated Transaction as impacted.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app which caused a duplicate column name error in the Integrate Test Repo workflow’s Convert Data action.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app’s Testing Details report where APP_AREA hyperlinks in the Home spreadsheet didn’t set the STATUS column correctly in the App Area Details spreadsheet.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app which caused a duplicate column name error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact app which caused a database is locked error if you ran more than one app variant in parallel using the same Analysis System.

  • We fixed a problem with the Test Audit app’s Variant screen where the Start Date and End Date fields didn't have date selection icons.

  • We fixed a problem with the Test Quality Audit app where the Search Test Repository action caused an Unknown Termination error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Cache IDOC Impact Data workflow where it deleted the symbol.db file from the Analysis System’s Object Links Cache database. The workflow now uses the Has Valid Object Link Cache Diagnostic action.

  • We fixed a problem with the Configurator Impact Analysis workflow which caused a no such column TESTED_OBJECT error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Get Used Objects workflow where it didn’t pass objects set in the Extra Objects parameter to the final Used Objects and User Statistics datasets.

  • We fixed a problem with the Smart Impact Analysis workflow where it didn’t use the Express or Standard mode feature.

  • We fixed a problem with the Collect Performance History Data action which caused an invalid vector subscript error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Compare Objects action and Quick Compare Wizard where a comparison of Report Variant objects (VARX) failed with an unknown object type error if the Report Variant had free selections.

  • We fixed a problem with the Convert SAP Types action where it incorrectly converted a Program (PROG) to a Module Pool (MODP).

  • We fixed a problem with the Create Hierarchy Report action where it reported an incorrect or missing status for Class (CLAS) objects, and for some BW objects in its Tier 1 comparison results.

  • We fixed a problem with the Create Object Links Cache action where it became blocked waiting on an Object Links Cache database lock that an abandoned reader process created.

  • • (6885) We fixed a problem withthe Create Object Links Cache action which caused a permission denied - remove failed. DropDbFile <path to olc UTable.db> error in some cases.

  • We fixed a problem with the Read Performance History Data action where it didn’t use the Include Background Jobs = false setting when it read performance history data from multiple RFC Destinations.

  • We fixed a problem with the Record Snapshot action where some tables weren’t shown in a Vault’s contents.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Execution action for qTest Test Repositories which caused an item already exists error if a test covered more than one input name.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for ALM Test Repositories which caused a termination error if the WgiLogFiles field was blank in the Configuration - Logging screen.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for Certify Test Repositories where the action didn’t return all (TEST_ID, NAME) matches in the case where you used more than one search term in the same test.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for qTest Test Repositories which caused an item already exists error if a test covered more than one SAP executable.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for SAP Solution Manager and Tosca Cloud Test Repositories which caused an Object reference not set to an instance of an object error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for local managed Tosca Test Repositories which caused a No object found for: ''. Invalid 'SearchPath'? error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for Tosca Cloud Test Repositories which caused an invalid json error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for Tosca Cloud Test Repositories which caused a null object reference error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action for Octane Test Repositories, where the action didn’t find search terms that occurred in multi-line test steps.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action which crashed if you set its Use Cache property to true. The crash occurred because the action did not initialize its Result dataset.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action which caused an XML parse error for Tosca test cases whose names contain U+0002 Start of Text control characters.

  • We updated LiveCompare’s debug logging functions to report XML parse errors.

  • We fixed a problem with the Search Test Repository action which caused a null object reference error when it searched a Tosca Cloud Test Repository that had a NULL workstate.

  • We fixed a problem with the Send Email action where its emails didn’t include an attachment if there were no spaces in the attachment’s filename.

  • We fixed a problem with the Send Email action which in some cases caused a low physical memory error.

  • We fixed a problem with the Uses What action for CDS View (DDLS) objects where the action performed a Where Used operation on found objects. This caused the Uses What results to include objects that were unrelated to the source objects.

  • We fixed a problem with the Uses What action for Includes (INCL) where it didn’t find refenced Enhancement Spot (ENHS) objects.

  • We fixed a problem where the Uses What and Uses What (Read Only) actions returned different Tree datasets for the same Enhancement Object (ENHO).

  • We fixed a problem with the Where Used action with the UseWip = N registry setting which caused a crash for RFC Destinations that did not have a HANA database connection.

  • We fixed a problem where the Where Used and Where Used (Read Only) actions returned different results for the same CDS View (DDLS) object.

  • We fixed a problem with the Where Used (Read Only) action where it didn’t limit the expansion of Include (INCL) objects.

  • We fixed a problem where the Show Sample Data option for an External Data Source didn’t obtain an exclusive lock for the External Data Source.

  • We fixed a problem where scheduled tasks used the wrong file path after an upgrade from LiveCompare 2025.2 patch 5.

  • We fixed a problem where LiveCompare used the wrong action command to schedule administration tasks and workflows.

  • We fixed a problem with the /ICORP/RFC_GET_ELEM_ATTRIBUTES function where the function type parameter definition used RSTXTSML instead of RSTXTSMXL.

  • We fixed a problem which could cause in-process workflows to become deadlocked.

  • We fixed a problem where Administrators couldn’t delete workflow archives in the LiveCompare hierarchy.

  • We fixed a problem where the LiveCompare Dashboard scheduled task crashed if you hadn’t installed the LiveCompareApps.exe package. The crash was due to the missing Smart Insights External Data Source.

  • We fixed a problem where LiveCompare crashed of you ran multiple variants, deleted their results, and then tried to run another variant. The crash occurred if you used the UseWip = N registry setting to force all workflows to run directly in rnserver.exe.

  • We fixed a problem where LiveCompare automatically saved any changes you made to an Excel report.

  • We fixed a problem where a user was required to provide their email address to access a report URL after they signed out of LiveCompare.

  • We fixed a problem for Administrators where LiveCompare didn’t sort new SSO users correctly in the Administration > Users hierarchy folder.

  • We fixed a problem where the Test RFC Destination screen’s Required Authorizations tab didn’t list the authorization DDLS_RIS_INDEX.

  • We fixed a problem where the Test RFC Destination screen’s Required Authorizations tab didn’t show all the required authorizations for tables BADI_IMP, SRVB_SERVICES and SRVD_RT_ENTITIES.

  • We fixed a problem where the Delete context menu was not shown for Administrators on archive objects if an Administrator had switched on OnlyAdminDeleteWorkflowArchives in the Configuration - Security screen.

  • We fixed a problem where error messages shown on the Login screen could exceed the boundary of the red box.

  • We fixed a problem with the Testing Details report’s Home worksheet where the APP_AREA hyperlinks didn’t filter the App Area Details worksheet correctly.

  • We fixed a problem with the Pre-install Check program where the Fix option didn’t work if you set the TEMP environment variable to an invalid directory.

Deprecated features

  • We’ve deprecated the following features in this release:

    • The user documentation section in the Administration screen.

    • The Collection sections in an RFC Destination’s DUA, PHD and SC_MON tabs. We recommend that you schedule the corresponding Tools > Collect… templates instead, for the following reasons:

      • Collector runs can impact the performance of LiveCompare, however each template workflow runs in its own process.

      • You can monitor the progress of scheduled workflows.

    • The RFC Destination UPL and SDD tabs.

    • The Short Dump Watch app.

Implementation

  • We upgraded LiveCompare to use SAP NetWeaver RFC 7.50 Patch 18 and sqlite3 version 3.53.2.

  • We upgraded LiveCompare to use Microsoft 365 Runtime instead of Access Database Engine 2016. The Pre-install Check program checks for this component.

  • We upgraded the Pre-install Check program to use C# and .NET core instead of Delphi.

  • We upgraded the Data Cleanser and Lux utilities to use standard .NET functions instead of functions from the Plupload library.

  • The LiveCompareApps.exe installation program no longer depends on Windows Host JavaScript. We found that some customers had disabled this component as part of their server hardening measures.

Removed functionality

  • The Analyze JavaScript Quality and Create Java Impact Report actions are no longer available. If you run an existing workflow that contains either of these actions, it results in the error Action is obsolete.

  • The Execute R action is no longer available. If you run an existing workflow that contains this action, it results in the error Action is obsolete.

  • The Read S3 Bucket and Write S3 Bucket actions are no longer available. If you run an existing workflow that contains either of these actions., it results in the error Action is obsolete.

  • The APO, Business Process Analysis, Java Analysis, License Management and Upgrade templates folders are no longer available.

  • The Data > Java Files and Data > S3 Buckets hierarchy folders are longer available.

  • Code Quality datasets are no longer available.

Known issues

Test Planning Report

In the Impact Analysis Results app, the Test Planning Report's Gaps panel may show no summary data intermittently. If this happens, it may help to refresh the report, or press F12 and perform an Empty Cache and Hard Reload operation.

Parallel impact analysis

The following impact analysis apps and workflows may not be run in parallel:

Database encryption

Partially encrypted workspaces

If LiveCompare is configured to encrypt SQL databases, an unencrypted workspace that is copied to the <LiveCompare user data dir\public\workspaces> folder will be encrypted when it is registered in LiveCompare. However, if the encryption process is aborted part way through (for example, if the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service is stopped), this will result in a workspace that can't be registered.

Apps

Code Guard

In some cases, an unknown termination error may occur when running the Code Guard app. On investigating the problem, we found that it was caused by two competing threads attempting to read the same Excel External Data Source. A workaround for this problem is to replace the app’s External Data Source with one of the same name that uses a different type of data file (for example, a .CSV file).

Fix My Code

The Fix My Code app only supports atomic object types, and container object types, such as Function Groups (FUGR).

Reports

The Reports utility app is no longer available. Instead, a summary of the current user’s generated reports is displayed in the Dashboard screen.

Upgrade Assessment Summary Excel report chart data doesn't update

If an Excel spreadsheet opens in Protected Mode, the charts may not reflect the data in the actual spreadsheet. You must switch the spreadsheet into Editable Mode to see the correct values in the charts. This issue was noticed for the Upgrade Assessment Summary Excel report; however, it may occur for other Excel reports.

Apps user interface

Server error in the Apps screen

A runtime error may occur when opening the Apps screen; an error page is shown with the title 'Server Error in ‘/livecompare/apps’ Application.'. This problem is caused if the IIS Session State feature value on the LiveCompare server is set to Read Only. To resolve this problem, follow these steps on the LiveCompare server:

  1. Start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. Ensure the Features View tab is selected, and double-click the Feature Delegation icon in the Management section.
  3. Set the Session State feature value to Read/Write.

Narrator doesn't distinguish between checked and unchecked checkboxes in an AAQ Select List

The Narrator screen reader doesn't distinguish between checked and unchecked checkboxes in the consumer interface’s AAQ Select List controls. We believe this to be a limitation of the third-party library.

Narrator may cause checkboxes in an AAQ Select List to be selected

In some cases, after the Narrator screen reader has read an AAQ Select List control in the consumer interface, some of the checkboxes in the control may be selected randomly. If this happens, we advise you to review your AAQ Select List selections before you select Continue.

Slider control values read by Narrator

The Narrator screen reader reads the value of slider controls differently depending on which browser is used. If the slider control is changed while it has focus using Edge, Narrator reads the old slider value, followed by the new slider value. If the slider control is changed while it has focus using Chrome, Narrator reads the old slider value only.

Commit Configuration

Attribute not found: ExecTestEventsPath

Following an upgrade from LiveCompare 2023.1, the following error may occur during the Commit Configuration process:

ERROR(8): Attribute not found: ExecTestEventsPath

The error may be resolved by running the Commit Configuration process again.

External Data Sources

Microsoft OLEDB driver for SQL Server version 19

Microsoft has released version 19 of the MSOLEDBSQL driver, however it isn't supported by LiveCompare as a driver for SQL Server External Data Sources. A workaround is to install version 18 of the MSOLEDBSQL driver; this version of the driver is checked for by LiveCompare’s Pre-install Check program.

Data extract program

Run the data extract program using SAP GUI 750

In some cases, the Upgrade Assessor data extract program may hang when run using SAP GUI 750, with the ST22 short dump file including either of the following errors:

The SAP Dispatcher (part of the application server) has lost the connection to a terminal process.

Control Framework : Error processing control.

In each of these cases, a workaround is to run the data extract program as a background job. See the Run the data extract program as a background job help topic for details.

Contacts

Custom contact details

If you have edited the contact details displayed in the Administration page, these details will be used in place of the default contact details when upgrading to LiveCompare 2026.1. If you have Administrator permissions, you can use the Restore Default Contacts button on the Administration page to restore the default contacts provided with LiveCompare.

Workspaces

Workflow isn't displayed in a reregistered workspace

If a workflow is run, and then its workspace is reregistered (i.e., deleted without removing its database files and then registered again), the workflow won't be displayed when it is selected in the LiveCompare hierarchy. To resolve this problem, restart the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service after first making sure that no users are signed in to LiveCompare, and that no workflows are currently running.

Workspace databases aren’t removed using Chrome

In LiveCompare 3.6, the selecting the Remove Database? checkbox on the Delete Workspace screen unregistered the workspace, but did not remove the workspace database when using Chrome. This problem has been resolved, however if you're using Chrome and have upgraded from LiveCompare 3.6, you may have some unwanted workspaces on your LiveCompare server. You can check this in LiveCompare by selecting Register Workspace from the Workspaces folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy and reviewing the list of unregistered workspaces. Workspaces that you no longer need may registered in LiveCompare 2026.1 and then deleted as normal by selecting the Remove Database? checkbox.

Analyses

Analyze Object Links Actions RFC timeout errors

If an RFC timeout error occurs while running the Analyze Object Links action, this can be resolved by means of a registry entry on the LiveCompare server.

  1. Run regedit and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tricentis\LiveCompare\2026.1\Settings registry folder.
  2. Create a new String value named AOLNoFanInOut, and set its value to X.

Create Object Links Cache actions

The Create Object Links Cache action was improved in version 3.8. If only a few changes have been made to objects in an SAP system, for the most part it will only retrieve changes made to those objects and store them in the local cache. This greatly speeds up the Create Object Links Cache action (and any analyses that depend on it) by an order of magnitude, typically.

Note that if the EU_INIT job is run on an SAP machine, it also updates its SAP-resident cache regarding the SAP objects on the system. However, we have observed that it also regenerates all the CLAS objects associated with WAPA objects. This can be 50K objects or more. The first time a COLC is run after the EU_INIT job is run, the Create Object Links Cache action will discard the current cache and completely rebuild the OLC cache.

The suggestion to users: if you have a regularly scheduled EU_INIT job, then schedule a COLC job to run after it, thereby making later COLCs run much faster.

Custom object naming patterns

This release contains new patterns in the Custom Object Naming Patterns External Data Source that classify objects whose names begin with SAPLY, SAPLZ, SAPMY or SAPMZ as custom objects. Customers who are installing LiveCompare for the first time will automatically receive this update. However, customers who are upgrading from an older release of LiveCompare won't automatically receive it. This policy exists because we don't wish to overwrite updates that customers have made to their External Data Source files.

If you're upgrading to LiveCompare 2026.1 from LiveCompare 3.1 or earlier, the Add New Custom Object Naming Patterns workflow in the Tools template package should be run once only to update the External Data Source with the new patterns. Please see the workflow’s template help file for more details.

Generic RFC Call actions

For SAP functions with ordinal parameters of type CHAR or DEC, if the direction is CHANGING, and there is no non-blank parameter value, the Generic RFC Call action’s output dataset won't be populated by the remote function call. In this case, please contact Tricentis support for assistance.

Read HTML Table action doesn't support HTTPS

The Read HTML Table action doesn't support URLs that begin with https:.

Analyze ABAP Quality action unable to scan large strings

The Analyze ABAP Quality action may return error in ABAP as the ABAP code’s complexity category, if the ABAP source includes long lines of code that run across several on-screen lines. For example, data declarations of long strings that exceed 4 on-screen lines and are literals may cause error in ABAP to be returned.

IMG comparison reports

In some cases, the Create Hierarchy Report action may run out of memory when generating a report from IMG Comparison results. This problem may occur when large IMG areas are compared, for example Payroll Accounting. To resolve this problem, use IMG Select List parameters to generate several different reports, each for a smaller portion of the IMG.

Table contents comparison of table T000

In order to be able to compare application data from two systems with different client numbers, LiveCompare ignores the MANDT field when comparing table contents. Since MANDT is the only key field in table T000, LiveCompare has no way of matching up rows from the two systems. T000 is the only table known to manifest this problem.

Read cluster tables

In some cases, a timeout error may occur when using the Read SAP Table action to read large cluster tables. If this happens when comparing a list of objects, a workaround is to exclude the cluster table from the comparison, then read it separately from each system using the Read Large SAP Table action. The cluster table may then be compared using the Compare Tables action.

Row details for table keys

In Hierarchy datasets, the hyperlink that opens the Row Details screen for Table Contents results displays a new a new window listing the table field names, the field values from each system and the field descriptions. However, the Row Details screen displayed for Table Key results shows no data.

Web Services

Reregister old Web Services

If you have upgraded to this release from LiveCompare 3.8 or earlier and you have any workflows that are registered as Web Services, these will need to be reregistered in LiveCompare 2026.1 using the Register Workflow as Web Service Wizard.

WSDL file runtime error

If a runtime error occurs when opening a WSDL file in the Data > Web Services hierarchy folder, this may be resolved by deleting the <LiveCompare user data dir>\Cache\webservices folder.

Output parameter selected by the Register Workflow as Web Service Wizard

When a workflow is registered as a Web Service, the first output parameter found in the workflow is selected by default in the Register Workflow as Web Service Wizard’s Choose Output Parameter screen. If the output parameter contains any spaces or non-alphanumeric characters, the resulting Web Service will be invalid, and in the case where this is the workflow’s only output parameter, no other parameters will be available for selection. Before registering a workflow as a Web Service, you should make sure that there are no spaces or non-alphanumeric characters in the name of the node that will be used for the Web Service’s output parameter.

Call a Web Service from an external program or third-party application

If you're upgrading from LiveCompare 3.1 and are using an existing Web Service that is called by an external program or third-party application, it may be necessary to re-register the Web Service using the Register Workflow as Web Service Wizard in this release. The new WSDL must then be used by the calling program. This is due to changes in the Web Service Definition Language expected in later LiveCompare releases.

Can't get new RFC signature after modifying a remote function

If a remote function is bound to a Generic RFC Call action and then modified to include an additional input parameter, the Generic RFC Call action retains the function’s original definition even after the RFC Signature Builder Wizard is rerun. This issue occurs because the SAP RFC Runtime maintains a cache for each SAP system ID, which isn't controlled by LiveCompare.

A workaround for this issue is to restart the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service on the LiveCompare server, first making sure that no users are signed in to LiveCompare, and that no workflows are currently running. After the Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service has been restarted, the RFC Signature Builder Wizard may be used to bind the Generic RFC Call action to the updated function.

Not enough memory to run Microsoft Excel

If a Not enough memory to run Microsoft Excel error occurs when opening an Excel report from LiveCompare, you can resolve this by adjusting Excel’s Protected View settings as follows:

  1. Start Excel and choose Options from the File tab.
  2. Select Trust Center and click Trust Center Settings….
  3. In the Protected View section, uncheck the Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet and Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations checkboxes.
  4. Close the dialogs, close Excel and then open the Excel report from LiveCompare.

Export table contents to Excel

When you export a Table dataset to Microsoft Excel, LiveCompare displays a dialog asking whether you would like to open or save the Excel file. If you click Open, Excel displays the following warning message:

The file you are trying to open is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file isn't corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file?

This warning occurs because the table contents are exported in HTML format, tagged to be opened using Excel. To display the table contents in Excel, choose Save in the initial dialog, and save the file with an .xls extension. When opening the .xls file, click Yes when the warning message is shown to display the table contents.

Reset complex workflows

If a workflow takes longer than three seconds to reset, the hourglass cursor that is displayed during the reset operation is replaced with an arrow cursor. This suggests that the operation has finished, however the workflow renderer will remain unresponsive until the reset has completed. This problem may occur for workflows that call a large number of sub workflows.

IMG Select List Property Editor

When working with an IMG that has been downloaded from an SAP system it is possible that you’ll see items in the hierarchy with indecipherable names. The items may be selected and used in an IMG selection, and are being returned from SAP when we query for the IMG hierarchy. We expect to filter or transform these items in a future release.

User interface

Configuration - Impact Analysis screen using Internet Explorer

If Internet Explorer is used, and the checkboxes on the Configuration - Impact Analysis screen are adjusted, clicking the screen’s Save button clears the screen’s checkboxes, so they don't match what is configured in LiveCompare. Additionally, clicking the screen’s Save button adds a vertical scrollbar to the right-hand side, and the screen’s description is scrolled out of view. This behavior is due to Internet Explorer's lack of support for the JavaScript libraries used throughout LiveCompare's client code, in particular jQuery 3.5.1.

Display tabs in Hierarchy datasets

In some cases using Internet Explorer 8, the tabs shown for Hierarchy datasets may not be displayed correctly. If this occurs, select Compatibility View Settings from the Internet Explorer Tools menu, and deselect the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View checkbox.

Miscellaneous

Multiple LiveCompare sessions using Internet Explorer

If you start a second LiveCompare browser window or tab (for example, to sign in using the admin account), the new browser window or tab shares the same session information as the first one. This means that if you sign in to LiveCompare using the second browser window or tab, then the first session will be lost. It also means that logging out from one LiveCompare session will sign out the other session. To start a new session for a second LiveCompare sign in, choose New session from Internet Explorer’s File menu.

Non-Western European language text

LiveCompare uses Unicode internally to read, write and store text, and therefore supports all major languages. However, the display of Unicode text may require some additional client configuration steps.

Invalid root in registry key

When IIS is configured to accept only authenticated access to LiveCompare, you may see this error message:

This error occurs because the authenticated user has insufficient permissions to write to the Windows registry. The solution is to use REGEDIT and grant the authenticated user account Full Access to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tricentis\LiveCompare\2026.1 registry key.

Export Table datasets to Excel 2007

The following message may be displayed if you try to export a Table dataset to Microsoft Excel 2007 using the Export to Excel button in the Details pane. It may also be displayed if you use the Export Header to Excel or Export Attributes to Excel links and try to view the resulting spreadsheet.

The file you are trying to open ‘[Filename.xls]’ is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file isn't corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file.

Files exported from LiveCompare are safe to open. The message is displayed because LiveCompare data is exported in HTML format, and we are using an .xls file extension. Excel 2007 uses a security measure called extension hardening which requires that the format of a file’s contents matches its extension. To prevent the message from being shown, set the following registry value on your LiveCompare client machine:

"ExtensionHardening"=dword:00000000

Generic RFC Call actions

The Generic RFC Call action may not work in some 700 kernel release systems for functions that have tables with numbers on odd-byte boundaries.
