SAP HANA Migration Assessment app
The SAP HANA Migration Assessment app analyzes your current SAP system and reports on the which areas to consider when you upgrade to a target S/4 HANA system. The app reports on the following:
- Impacted Used Custom Code
- Custom Code Quality
- Unused Custom Code
- Used Obsolete Transactions
- Impacted Used Standard Code
- Object Usage
- Impacted Custom and Standard IDOCs
- Impacted Profiles and Authorizations
- SPDD and SPAU Objects
The app SAP Business Suite on HANA and SAP S/4 HANA on SAP kernel releases 700 and above, on any SAP BASIS or Windows Application Server product from release 700 to 74x.
When you run the app, you specify the SAP As-Is and To-Be systems that the analysis will use:
-
The As-Is system is an SAP instance at the current SAP version.
-
The To-Be system an SAP instance at the target SAP version.
You don’t need to install the LiveCompare Add-on on either SAP system. A data extract program runs on each system to extract the data the analysis needs. You’ll need to download the program’s source code from LiveCompare and use SAP transaction SE38 to install it on each SAP system.
The program stores the extracted data in As-Is and To-Be ZIP archives. You upload these into LiveCompare to create Universal Extracts (LUXes) for the As-Is and To-Be systems.
DevOps categories
Development, Testing, Operations.
Prerequisites
Before you run the app, follow the steps outlined in the Perform an SAP HANA migration assessment topic to load and run the data extract program on your As-Is and To-Be systems, and to upload the results into LiveCompare to create LUXes for the As-Is and To-Be systems.
Run the app
To run the SAP HANA Migration Assessment app, select the app from the Apps screen and create an app variant. Set the As-Is LUX field to the LUX uploaded for your As-Is system, and the To-Be LUX field to the LUX uploaded for your To-Be system. Edit the AAQ Select List parameter if required to specify the quality scenarios, categories and rules to be used in the analysis. The Upgrade scenario is selected by default.
Click Run. When the variant has completed, you can access its results from the App Cockpit screen.
