App Cockpit
The App Cockpit screen displays the variants and results that are available to you for the currently selected app. To display the screen, select an app from the Apps screen. The App Cockpit screen’s header section displays the app’s title and description, and includes a breadcrumb trail leading back to the Apps screen. The App Cockpit screen has the following sections.
Variants
A variant is an instance of an app with a saved set of parameter values. Private variants are accessible to the current user only. Shared variants are accessible to all users who have the app on their Apps screen. This section lists the app variants that are available to the current user, and displays the following details for each variant.

| Date | When a variant is created, this column displays the date and time when the variant was created. When a variant is created is run, this column displays the date and time when the execution was started. |
| Status | The execution status for the variant. Move the mouse cursor over each status entry to display additional details. |
| Actions - Edit | Click the icon to display the selected variant in the Variant screen. Edit the variant’s parameter values as required, and click Save to save your changes. |

The Status column may contain the following values:

| <Blank> | The variant has not been run. |
| Running | The variant is currently running. The tool tip for this status displays the start time for the execution. If a start time isn't shown in the tool tip, the variant is queued for execution. The number of variants and workflows that may be run concurrently is determined by the MaxConcurrentProcesses setting in the Configuration - General screen. |
| Success | The execution of the variant has completed successfully. The tool tip for this status displays the start and end time for the execution, and the number of workflow actions run. |
| Aborted | The variant was aborted. The tool tip for this status displays the start and end time for the execution. |
| Failed | An error occurred while executing the variant. The tool tip for this status displays the error message returned by the associated workflow. |
| UnknownTermination | The Tricentis LiveCompare Application Server service was stopped while the variant was running. The tool tip for this status displays the time when the variant was last saved. |
Create a new variant
To create a new private variant, follow these steps.

to display the New variant dialog.

Enter a name for the new variant in the Variant Name field.

In the Based on field, select [App] if the new variant should use the parameter values that were saved when the app was created. Alternatively, select a variant name to use the parameter values from the selected variant. [App] is the default value.

Enter a name for the variant and click OK.
The new variant is listed in the Variants table.
Create a new shared variant
To create a new shared variant, click the parent variant’s
icon in the Variants table’s Actions column. A shared variant is created named <parent variant name>_<unique number>. This is a copy of the parent variant, and will be available to all users who access the app from their Apps screen.
Note that a variant that is created by clicking
may not be shared further. Each user maintains their own set of variant results; the results of running a shared variant are available to the current user only.
Delete variants
To delete one
or more variants, select the checkboxes next to one or more entries in the Variants table, and click
. To mark all the variants for deletion, select the checkbox in the column heading. A variant that is currently running or queued may not be deleted. If a shared variant is deleted, it will no longer be available to any users.
Refresh the Variants table
Select the F5 key periodically to refresh the Variants table and display each variant’s current execution status.
Export the Variants table to Excel
Click
to export the Variants table to an Excel spreadsheet.
Results
This section lists the app results that are available to the current user, and displays the following details for each app result.

| Actions - Email | Click to display the Email Results screen, which allows you to send the app result to other users via email. Complete the To field, and modify the Subject and Message fields if required, then click Send. Note that commas or spaces should be used to separate multiple email addresses. |
| Actions - Share | Click the icon to share the app result with one or more LiveCompare users. The users are able to access the shared results from the App Cockpit screen. |

Delete results
To delete
one or more app results, select the checkboxes next to one or more entries in the Results table, and click
. To mark all the results for deletion, select the checkbox in the column heading.
Refresh the Results table
Select the F5 key periodically to refresh the Results table and display any newly-generated results.
Export the Results table to Excel
Click
to export the Results table to an Excel spreadsheet.
Navigation panel
The navigation panel is displayed on the left-hand side of each Apps screen, and includes the following icons:

Header
If you have LiveCompare Editor or Consumer permissions and your administrator has created one or more Projects, the header section includes a Select Project dropdown. Here you can select which project LiveCompare displays in the Projects screen.
If LiveCompare is Resource Group-controlled, the header section includes a Select Resource Group dropdown. You can only access resources in the currently selected Resource Group.

Keyboard navigation
When navigating to the beginning or end of the Variants or Results data grids using the keyboard, a link named Skip to Variants datagrid is displayed.

Click either link to navigate to the beginning of the appropriate data grid.
