Organize your inventory
Keep your workspace neat and efficient by creating, updating, or deleting individual assets through the Inventory page. Here you can also manage your assets in bulk so you stay organized and in control with just a few clicks.
Manage your assets
To go to the Inventory page, select Build from the left menu and then choose any option from the dropdown list. Once you access the Inventory, you can do the following:
-
Search
in the folder panel to retrieve folders by name.
-
Search
in the asset panel to locate any asset. Note that, if you have a folder open, the search only retrieves assets available inside that particular folder.
-
Apply filters
to narrow your results by asset type, last modified by, tags, or modification date.
-
Create new modules, reusable test steps, and test cases.
-
Select the
dropdown menu to view or update asset's details like name, description, and tags or delete assets. -
Use the bulk select option to edit or delete multiple assets at once.
-
Group assets into existing folders by selecting the
Move selected option or into new folders by selecting the
Create folder option.
-
Move assets and folders by using the
drag-and-drop icon as follows:
-
Drag assets into folders in the assets panel or folder panel.
-
Drag folders into other folders in the folder panel to create subfolders.
-
Drag assets or folders from the assets panel into any folder in the folder panel.
-
Create an empty folder
Folders help you organize your assets regardless of their type. You can also move them between projects or teams. To create an empty folder, select
Create folder and specify a name in the Name column.
Edit folders
Here is how you can maintain your folders:
-
Edit the folder name via the
dropdown menu. -
Remove the assets from a folder via the
Ungroup option. When ungrouping, the folder is deleted and its assets are moved to the parent folder. Subfolders are kept as they are and placed in the same parent folder.
-
Delete folders via the
Delete option. When deleting a folder, all the assets included will be deleted.
Use tags
Tags are short keyword or labels that help you categorize your assets and find what you need faster. Add tags to an asset by selecting the
dropdown menu > Edit. In the Tags field, start typing a tag name. If a similar tag already exists, you can select it. If not, a new tag will be created.
What's next
Once your assets are in the Inventory, use them to design your test cases and include them in playlists.
