Key Features version 2026.1 LTS

The Tricentis team is excited to introduce Tricentis Tosca 2026.1 LTS!

This topic gives you an overview of the 2026.1 LTS key features. For a detailed list of all new features, please download the Technical Release Notes from the Tricentis Support Hub.

For information on Short-Term Support (STS) and Long-Term Support (LTS) releases, see this Tricentis Knowledge Base article.

Automation Object Service: Automatic artifact cleanup

AOS now automatically cleans up unused artifact files to help you reduce maintenance. A background job runs at startup and every 24 hours to remove artifacts older than your configured retention period.

Tosca Distribution Agent settings: More control over Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connections

You no longer need administrator rights to configure DEX Agent settings from the Agent GUI. The DEX Agent settings moved from ToscaDistributionAgent.dll.config to the new AgentSettings.xml file to enable this. You can find the new file at C:\ProgramData\TRICENTIS\Tosca Testsuite\7.0.0\DistributedExecutionAgent\Default\settings by default.

Two new optional settings let you fine-tune how the Agent handles RDP connections:

  • Set a key vault timeout for RDP credentials. If your key vault takes longer than 30 seconds to respond, increase the timeout so executions no longer fail while waiting for credentials.

  • Enable automatic confirmation of RDP login messages. Configure the Agent to simulate a key press after it establishes the RDP connection, so login messages no longer block your session and require manual interaction.

DokuSnapper improvements

DokuSnapper, our results documentation tool, has three updates:

  • Flexible report storage. Store reports locally in your file system or in your Tosca workspace.

  • More display options. A new test configuration parameter renders Buffer test steps as tables in your reports.

  • Better template. Reports have a new, improved visual look.

PDF Engine 3.0: table scan improvements

When you scan a PDF table, you can now adjust the column and row layout directly in the scan window. PDF table steering is also more reliable.

PowerBuilder ComboBoxes

A new AutomationMethod steering parameter lets you control how Tosca steers ComboBox modules in PowerBuilder applications. You can simulate typing, arrow key navigation, or a combination of both. For DropDownDataWindow ComboBoxes, you can also simulate typing without validation or scroll to find an item.

Salesforce improvements

The Salesforce Engine has three updates:

SeaLights integration

Three new test configuration parameters in the SeaLights configuration give you more flexibility and control:

  • SeaLightsNeverSkips: Define tests you don't want to skip, even if SeaLights suggests skipping them. This ensures that essential setup actions and steps that are otherwise critical to your test flow always run.

  • SeaLightsLabId: Specify the test environment or instance, and link builds and agents together. This simplifies parallel test execution, especially when you test multiple instances of an application.

  • SeaLightsTestStageName: Label your tests. This makes it easier to classify and track results in SeaLights.

Tosca Cloud: test execution integration

New settings for the Automation Object Service allow you to define how many times and how often AOS tries to retrieve results of a finished test run. This helps you to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention.

Tosca Cloud: transition

The upload functionality is extended to make your move to Tosca Cloud easier and faster. You can now upload folders from Tosca Commander to Tosca Cloud, which allows you to move various components at once.

Tosca Commander

We've added a few enhancements to make everyday tasks a little easier:

  • A new function for TQL queries lets you add a dynamic date parameter to your queries. This speeds up getting important reporting data, like recent test logs, especially when you fetch data via TCShell or the REST API. No need to set up List&Label for data queries!

  • A new option lets you define whether new Modules, TestCases, and TestSheets land at the top or the bottom of a folder. This gives you more control over organizing your content and helps streamline your workflow.

  • An extended command for TCShell, the Tosca command-line tool, lets you specify the data type for your test configuration parameter. This gives you more configuration options outside the UI, if that's how you prefer to work.

  • A new menu and context menu option lets you jump straight from a TestStep in your test results to the linked Module. This saves you extra clicks whenever you want to inspect the logic behind the TestStep.

  • A redesigned progress bar for test runs shows progress more clearly and offers an expandable section with the latest failed tests. This highlights issues as they occur, so you can react before the run is even finished.

  • An additional column for test configuration parameters lets you define a value range, so that your team can choose from predefined values when they apply the parameter. This reduces the potential for errors and speeds up test configuration.

We've also implemented stronger security for subsets to help you keep sensitive data safe. Starting with 2026.1, you can remove permissions to import and export subsets. Additionally, if a user tries to export a subset that includes test assets they don't have rights to, Tosca will block the export.

Last, but not least, we've refined subset exports to be cleaner and more precise. They now include only the objects you need, so exports are faster and more efficient.

Tosca Server health checks

We no longer use Consul for Tosca Server health checks. We implement our own health check services. So we removed all the settings related to Consul from Tosca.

Tosca Xscan settings

The Minimum control dimensions setting in Tosca Xscan is new. This setting lets you specify the minimum size a control must have for Tosca to consider it visible.

The Show alternative treegrid controls setting in Tosca Xscan is also new, which allows you to steer treegrids with table controls. This simplifies your tests for treegrids without nested elements.

Tricentis User Administration Single Sign-On features

If you use Single Sign-On in Tricentis User Administration you can now automatically sync user group memberships from your identity provider and reduce your manual admin work.

You can now secure your Single Sign-On requests from Tricentis User Administration with SAML signed certifications.

Standard subset module updates

The following modules in the Standard subset gain new capabilities:

  • TBox File Existence now supports XBuffer. If you only know part of a file name, use an XBuffer to match the file and capture the missing parts at runtime.

  • TBox Window Operation has a new optional Timeout attribute. Set custom wait times beyond the default synchronization timeout.

Tricentis Mail Configuration

Microsoft is deprecating basic authentication for SMTP starting March 2026. This means that applications and devices using SMTP will need to use modern authentication methods. To ensure continued email functionality, Tosca Server now supports OAuth 2.0 as an option for mail configuration.
