Key Features version 2025.1 LTS

The Tricentis team is excited to introduce Tricentis Tosca 2025.1 LTS!

This topic gives you an overview of our 2025.1 LTS key features. For a detailed list of all new features, please download the Technical Release Notes from the Tricentis Support Hub.

For information on Short-Term Support (STS) and Long-Term Support (LTS) releases, see this Tricentis Knowledge Base article.

Archive ExecutionList results

In addition to archiving latest results, you can now archive the results of specific test runs. This helps you keep a permanent record of milestone results and ensures that you don't accidentally delete important information. For details, check out "Archive results".

Cloud transition

We've extended our upload functionality to make your move to Tosca Cloud easier and faster:

We've also added a setting called Upload mode that helps speed up uploads and save on bandwidth. With this new setting, you can configure Tosca to only upload objects that have changed since the previous upload.

Customize add-ins

We've made some updates to Tosca Commander that give you more control over your experience, along with a performance boost.

Dokusnapper

Dokusnapper can now save your document to both your execution results and local path. This enhancement gives you even more convenience and flexibility for your Dokusnapper reports.

Enhanced Data Integrity Modules

We've added new features to our Data Integrity Modules that help you further customize you tests:

  • The ColumnFilters parameter allows you to specify the table columns you want to return when running tests with SAP databases.

  • The Paths to Exclude and Paths to Include filters in the Complete Tree Comparison Module help you define the exact scope of your file comparison.

Image-based scanning

We've updated the look and feel of image-based scanning. These upgrades give you the same functionality in a new, more intuitive design.

Mobile automation enhancements

We’ve added features and improvements to help you test more thoroughly and efficiently:

  • New modules in the Standard subset extend your testing scenarios and scope. The modules Install App, Activate App, Remove App, Terminate App , Check if App is installed, and Get App State allow you to easily switch between apps or install/uninstall during test runs.

  • New keyboard dismissal options improve your mobile automation experience on iOS devices. You can now configure steering parameters to automatically close keyboards without manual intervention. With four dismissal strategies, KeyboardDismissalReturn, KeyboardDismissalButton, KeyboardDismissalClick, and KeyboardDismissalSwipe, you can choose the method that best suits your needs.

  • New default behavior of the test configuration parameter ScrollToVisible minimizes adjustment time during tests. The parameter now automatically centers native mobile app controls in the viewing area.

  • Vision AI for Mobile enhancements (preview phase) simplify the integration workflows to make it faster and easier to bring AI-driven test automation technology into your mobile tests. You can automatically create a Vision AI tenant using your Tosca Cloud token. Plus, we've stabilized technical IDs for consistent scanning results.

Multiple gateway hosting

You can now add an unlimited number of hostnames to the ToscaGateway Service. This improvement makes it easier to support different regions or custom domains, which is perfect for growing projects and flexible setups.

New integration: Tricentis SeaLights

Ready to speed up your release schedule? Our new integration with SeaLights can help you reduce the effort and cost of faster deployment:

  • Skip tests that cover unchanged code to cut test cycle time and costs.

  • Focus only on relevant tests to troubleshoot and fix issues sooner.

For detailed information, check out "SeaLights integration".

SAP Engine 3.0

Tosca is now fully compatible with the latest versions of SAP GUI, SAP NWBC, SAP UI5, and Fiori. This means you can automate test cases smoothly, even when there are new software updates.

SAP Solution Manager integration

We’ve simplified the setup process. Now getting started with SAP Solution Manager is easier than ever.

Test data from Excel

We've added a new setting for those of you who create test data from Excel. You can now choose whether Tosca should create test data based on a cell's actual content, or based on cell content in the Excel-defined format. This saves you time and headache: You no longer have to reformat Excel files or TestCase values to have the right data in your TestCases.

Tosca Cloud integration

Configure and prepare your Tosca TestCases for a better integration with Tosca Cloud:

  • Define custom Tosca Cloud workspaces for ElasticExecutionGridEvents. This way, you can show an overview of team-relevant results and avoid displaying all test run results in the same Tosca Cloud workspace.

  • Define your Tosca Cloud test by converting TestEvents that contain your ExecutionLists into ElasticExecutionGridEvents.

Tosca Commander: admin passwords

As part of our commitment to continuously improving security, we’ve introduced a new feature when you create the very first workspace for a multi-user repository: you now have to set a password for the admin account.

This update strengthens access controls and keeps sensitive data safe.

XBrowser Engine: Supports browser zoom

The XBrowser Engine 3.0 is now also compatible with zoom factors other than 100%, which gives you greater flexibility during scans.

Known issues

API Engine

When running a test case, navigating to Transfer Products > Create Transfer, and entering input into the Receiving Site, the test may fail with the error message Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'toUpperCase').

Tosca Cloud Elastic Execution Grid integration

When you trigger a test run in Tosca Cloud and have the Repetitions property enabled in the ExecutionList, each ExecutionEntry only runs once—instead of being repeated multiple times.

Also, you may get an error when you execute an ElasticExecutionGridEvent that you've created in Tricentis Tosca 2024.2 or older.

To fix this error, follow these steps:

  1. Check out the ElasticExecutionGridEvent.

  2. Enter an ID for the property CloudWorkspaceId in the Properties pane.

  3. Check in the ElasticExecutionGridEvent.

Tosca XScan

Tosca XScan doesn't display XBrowser Engine settings if you access the settings directly from the Select Application screen. To access these settings, you need to select your application and scan it, then select Settings in the Tosca XScan title bar.

WinX Engine

When using table steering to automate form controls in DataWindows, you may encounter issues. If this happens, use form control steering instead.
