User roles and permissions

Tosca Cloud has the following user roles:

Administrator manages the organization in Settings, including My plan, Users and groups, Workspaces, and System settings. Administrators also have all contributor and viewer permissions. The user who first registers the account becomes an administrator.
Contributor creates, changes, and runs test assets.
Viewer reviews test assets and results without changing them. Viewers don't count against your seat limit, so invite as many viewers as you need.

If you're not sure which role you have, go to User menu > Settings > Users and groups, find yourself on the list, and check your Roles.

If a user has more than one role, for example from their user account and from a group, the user gets the combined permissions of all assigned roles.

Roles per workspace

A tenant role sets general permissions. Administrators assign a workspace role to a user or group. The workspace role sets permissions in that workspace and overrides the tenant role there.

Workspace roles apply to both open and private workspaces:

Open workspaces: All users have access. Add a workspace role to set permissions for a user or group.
Private workspaces: Choose a role when you assign a user or group.

Specific actions may vary by feature and workspace. If an action isn't available, contact your administrator to check your role and your workspace access.
