Create tests

A performance test is a series of automated steps that simulates a large amount of user activity at the same time. This lets you check how fast and well your software works under pressure.

To create a NeoLoad Web test, you need to upload a project, select a scenario, and select a zone. Let's get on with it!

Upload a project

NeoLoad Web offers different ways to upload projects:

You can upload the project file as a zip file from NeoLoad or Git, or as a YAML file from NeoLoad.

Customize a scenario

After uploading your project, it's time to create a scenario. A scenario is a script for how a test runs: how many users, what they do, and for how long. You can create these scenarios in NeoLoad and customize them in NeoLoad Web as part of your project. For information on how to customize a scenario, check out Customize a scenario.

Manage a zone

It's time to select a zone, where that scenario is going to take place. In NeoLoad Web, a zone is the place where your test runs. You can use a variety of servers in different countries to see how well your test plays out. For information on how to configure your zones, check out Manage your zones.

Name the test result

After configuring your test, assign a unique name to each test result, so you can easily identify them in your reports.

By default, NeoLoad Web uses the #${runID} from the Advanced section of the test creation screen, and it automatically adds a number that increases with each test run.

Run your test

Now that you have uploaded a project, customized a scenario and managed your zones, you're ready to run your test, let's do it!
