Create SAP user accounts for LiveCompare

LiveCompare requires a connection to each of the SAP systems for which it will perform comparisons or analyses. To support the connections, you will need to create an SAP account on each of the systems to be used with LiveCompare.

The SAP user accounts should be created using transaction SU01. You may wish to make these communication type accounts (for external RFC calls only) so they can't be used to sign in to SAP interactively. The appropriate SAP authorization roles for the accounts are provided as part of the LiveCompare installation.

Add roles to the SAP user accounts

A minimum set of authorizations required for LiveCompare are provided as part of the installation, in the form of SAP roles.

Role Description
/ICORP/LC_CORE_AUTHS3 LiveCompare core authorizations.
/ICORP/LC_BW_AUTHS LiveCompare BW authorizations.
/ICORP/LC_HR_AUTHS LiveCompare HR authorizations.

On each of your SAP systems, run transaction SU01, and edit the LiveCompare SAP user account. In the Roles tab:

  • Assign the /ICORP/LC_CORE_AUTHS3 role to the LiveCompare SAP user account.

Additionally:

  • If the SAP BW component is installed, assign the /ICORP/LC_BW_AUTHS role.

  • If the SAP HR component is installed, assign the /ICORP/LC_HR_AUTHS role.

  • If you plan to use LiveCompare to search one or more SAP Solution Manager Test Repositories, assign the /ICORP/LC_SSM_AUTHS role.

SAP role modifications in this release of LiveCompare

Add LiveCompare authorizations to a custom role

If the LiveCompare SAP account uses a custom role rather than the supplied /ICORP/LC_CORE_AUTHS3 role, you will need to add the required LiveCompare authorizations to the custom role. See here for details.
