Create ServiceNows

ServiceNows allow LiveCompare to connect to ServiceNow instances. ServiceNows are used by actions that require access to their associated ServiceNow instances. For example, the Convert Data action may be used to convert a string value into a ServiceNow from the LiveCompare hierarchy.

ServiceNows are accessible from the Administration/ServiceNow folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy. This folder may contain child ServiceNow Folders which allow related RFC Destinations to be grouped together.

If you have LiveCompare Administrator privileges, a ServiceNow may be created by carrying out the following steps. LiveCompare Editors may also create ServiceNows if this has been permitted by your installation.

  1. Select the Administration/ServiceNow folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy and choose ‘New ServiceNow…’ from the context menu.

  2. Complete the Add ServiceNow screen as follows:

Field Description
Name: A unique name that will identify the ServiceNow.
Description: A description for the ServiceNow.
Url: The URL of the ServiceNow developer instance to which to connect.
Username: The ServiceNow username to use for the connection.
Password: The ServiceNow password to use for the connection.
Confirm Password: Enter the same password for confirmation.
Add to Resource Group(s): If LiveCompare is resource group-controlled, deselect the appropriate check boxes to exclude the ServiceNow from one or more resource groups. If you have LiveCompare Editor privileges, the check box for your current resource group may not be deselected. If you have LiveCompare Administrator privileges, a ServiceNow will not be accessible unless it is assigned to at least one resource group.

Click ‘Add ServiceNow’ to create the ServiceNow.
