Integrate with Tosca on-prem

If you integrate with Tosca on-prem (opens in new tab), you can run your on-premises tests in the cloud.

If you're in charge of setting up the integration, this topic is for you. It explains the most important considerations and actions for setting up the necessary infrastructure to run tests in Tosca Cloud.

Choose your agents

When it comes to running tests, you have the following options:

  • Personal agents for local trial runs on a user's machine. Results are only visible to this user and available for a limited time, according to our data policy.

  • Team agents or cloud agents for full-scale test runs. With these agents, you use the test distribution and execution service of Tosca Cloud. It's fast and easy to scale, and it offers automated agent start-up and autologon, silent updates, and detailed test run logs—all with zero maintenance on your end. Results are visible to your whole team and available for longer, according to our data policy.

Use personal agents

For a user machine to become a personal agent, you need to install local components. After that, you're good to go!

Use team agents

Team agents let you reuse your existing infrastructure with the benefits of Elastic Execution Grid.

Once you're eligible for team agents, you can set them up for test runs.

If you're on your 14-day trial, you can set up an unlimited number of team agents.

If you already have DEX agents, you can reuse the same machines. Just set them up for Tosca Cloud—no need to uninstall the current DEX agents.

Use cloud agents

Cloud agents don't require any setup or maintenance, so if you want to run your tests with zero worries about test execution infrastructure, you might want to try them out. You can use cloud agents instead of team agents, or in addition to them.
