Manage intervals
An interval in NeoLoad Web is a specific time range you define to filter and analyze test results. Use intervals to examine how your application performed during a specific period, such as when the load was highest or when errors occurred.
Once you add an interval, apply it in the Dashboard, Events, and Values tabs of your test run to troubleshoot and optimize for that timeframe. Interval filtering isn't available in SLAs.
Before you start
You can add intervals in three ways. Chose the type of interval analysis based on your needs:
- Augmented analysis: Uses machine learning to automatically split a test result into time intervals and explain system behavior in each one. It detects anomalies and bottlenecks by combining response time, error, and throughput metrics with virtual user load.

VU pattern analysis: Uses machine learning to automatically detect load phases based on virtual user patterns.

Custom interval: You create an interval manually for a specific time range you want to analyze.
Add intervals
To add an interval to a test result, follow these steps:

Go to Results and select a test result.

Go to the Overview tab of a test result.

Select + Add interval.

Choose one of the available options:

Augmented analysis and VU pattern analysis: NeoLoad Web creates the intervals automatically.

Custom intervals: You select the time range and add a description yourself.

NeoLoad Web generates the interval and displays it as a colored block on the timeline charts. Each machine learning-based mode runs only once per test result. The button for that mode stays disabled until you delete all intervals of that type. Check out Augmented analysis to learn how that mode works.
