Guided Configuration Migration Assistant
The Commit Configuration process available from the Guided Configuration screen’s Pipelines tab prepares each of your Pipelines so that you are ready to run the Smart Impact app and the LiveCompare Usage Report workflow. The Commit Configuration process performs the following tasks:
-
Downloads IMG, performance history and DUA data for RFC Destinations used in Pipelines.
-
Schedules the collection of performance history and DUA data for RFC Destinations used in Pipelines.
-
Schedules workflows that generate Object Links Cache and Test Repository Cache databases.
-
Schedules the Developer Impact Analysis, Configurator Impact Analysis and Security Impact Analysis workflows.
-
Schedules the LiveCompare Usage Report workflow.
If you have upgraded to LiveCompare 2025.2 patch 1 from LiveCompare 4.8 or earlier and you use LiveCompare for impact analysis, you may have set up some of these tasks manually in your earlier release of LiveCompare. Committing a configuration without removing your manual tasks may result in a duplication of configuration steps, which could lead to slower performance or inaccurate impact analysis results.
The Guided Configuration Migration Assistant workflow helps with this task by identifying scheduled workflows with either COLC, CACHE or IMPACT ANALYSIS in their names (the matches are case-insensitive). The results are used to generate an Excel report, which should be reviewed in conjunction with the Guided Configuration following an upgrade from LiveCompare 4.8 or earlier help topic.
Prepare the workflow
To prepare the Guided Configuration Migration Assistant workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Tools folder into your own workspace. The workflow doesn't require any modifications, however it may be customized to search for additional terms in workflow names by carrying out the following steps:
-
Select the Execute SQL action directly underneath the Scheduled Runs dataset, and choose Edit Statements from the context menu.
-
Add additional ‘or’ clauses to the SQL statements WHERE clause, using the same format as the other ‘or’ clauses, but specifying different search terms.

Run the workflow
To run the Guided Configuration Migration Assistant workflow, click the toolbar button, choose Run Now from the context menu or select F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. If LiveCompare is Resource Group-controlled, the workflow should be run in each of your Resource Groups.

Workflow results
The Excel report list the scheduled workflows whose names include either COLC, CACHE or IMPACT ANALYSIS in their names (the matches are case-insensitive). Each workflow’s workspace and execution status is listed, along with the user who scheduled the workflow, and the schedule details.
If you have upgraded to LiveCompare 2025.2 patch 1 from LiveCompare 4.8 or earlier, the Excel report should be reviewed in conjunction with the Guided Configuration following an upgrade from LiveCompare 4.8 or earlier help topic before committing a configuration in the Guided Configuration - Pipelines screen.
