Strong passwords

The requirement for strong passwords is set by default during the configuration of LiveCompare. Alternatively, an Administrator may set the requirement later in the Configuration - Security screen. A password must match all the following criteria to be considered strong:

• At least 10 characters.
• At least 1 upper case character.
• At least 1 lowercase character.
• At least 1 number.
• At least 1 special character from this list: ` ¬ ¦ ! " £ $ € ^ & * ( ) - = + [ ] { } ; : ' @ # ~ \ | < > , . / ? <space>

When setting a password in the New User, Edit User Profile or Change Password for User screen, a label next to the Password field indicates the strength of the password as you type it. The requirement for strong passwords applies to user native accounts only, and not to the passwords for user accounts imported from an LDAP server.
