Configuration

If you're a LiveCompare administrator, you can set various registry values on the LiveCompare server to control the application’s behavior.

To do this, go to Administration > Configuration and select an item to display the respective screen in the Details pane. Alternatively, use the links in the Details pane to access each screen.

This topic lists all screens in the Configuration folder and what you can do there.

Logging

This screen allows you to switch on debug logging, browse, export and purge log files, and specify how long (in days) LiveCompare retains log files.

Security

This screen allows you to restrict some activities to administrators only and control certificate validation. It also lets you set the requirement for strong passwords, and control how LDAP users are assigned to Resource Groups.

Email

This screen allows you to configure LiveCompare to send emails. These setting as used by:

Complete the screen fields as follows. If you're unsure what's right for your use case, check with your email administrator.

Field Description
DisableAppNotifications Enter X to stop LiveCompare from sending notification emails when app runs complete (with either success or failure). If this field is blank, LiveCompare sends a notification email to all users who run an app.
EmailFromAddress

The sender email address that LiveCompare uses to send test emails and emails from the apps user interface. Your email server must allow this address to send emails. Please ask your network administrator for the appropriate value.

Note that the Send Email action doesn't use this setting. You have to specify the From address in the action itself.

OptOutTelemetry Enter X to opt out of sending anonymous usage data to Tricentis. However, we encourage you to share this data with us as it helps us improve our product and support services.
SMTPConfiguration The email addresses for the recipients of the Configurator Impact Analysis report. Use a comma-separated list.
SMTPDevelopment

The email addresses for the recipients of the Developer Impact Analysis report. Use a comma-separated list.

SMTPIgnoreSSLCertificateErrors Enter X to have LiveCompare ignore SSL certificate errors when sending emails. We strongly recommend that you use this setting with caution.
SMTPPassword

The password to authenticate with the SMTP server when sending emails. Note that if a password is required, you must enter it every time you change the email configuration settings.

LiveCompare never displays the password in the user interface.

If you don't require authentication, leave this field blank.

SMTPPort The port on the SMTP server that LiveCompare uses to send emails. Leave this field blank to use the default port 25.
SMTPSecurity The email addresses for the recipients of the Security Impact Analysis report. Use a comma-separated list.
SMTPServer The hostname or IP address of the SMTP server that LiveCompare uses to send emails. If you require more than one recipient, set up an email group or alias.
SMTPUsage The email addresses for the recipients of the LiveCompare Usage report. Use a comma-separated list.
SMTPUsername The username LiveCompare uses to authenticate with the SMTP server when sending emails. Your email server must allow this account to send emails. Please ask your network administrator for the appropriate value.
SMTPUseSSL

Enter X to connect to the SMTP server using SSL.

SMTPUseSTARTTLS Enter X to use STARTTLS to encrypt the exchange with the mail server. You should only use this setting if your mail server supports STARTTLS.

To send a test email using the currently saved configuration settings, complete the fields in the Test Email panel and select Send. Note that the Send button is inactive for as long as you have unsaved changes in any of the email configuration settings.

After sending the email, LiveCompare displays a confirmation message and returns you to the Email screen. LiveCompare saves the values in the Test Email panel.

General

This screen displays the location of the LiveCompare User Data directory, and includes general settings for the execution of workflows. It also allows you to specify the location of the Graphviz integration library.

The FioriLaunchpad... settings determine how LiveCompare interprets Fiori Launchpad data downloaded from the SAP /UI2/FLPCA transaction. The WebProxy… settings allow LiveCompare to use a web proxy to connect to Azure DevOps, qTest, SAP Solution Manager, or Tosca.

FioriLaunchpadFioriIdFieldNames

Specifies the possible column names in the /UI2/FLPCA export that contains the Fiori application Id. You can specify multiple columns by separating each column name with a semicolon (;). If the setting is blank, LiveCompare uses the default setting: Application Ressource (note that the spelling of ‘Resource’ is intentional as it matches the output from SAP).

FioriLaunchpadSearchTermFieldNames

Specifies the /UI2/FLPCA columns that LiveCompare uses as search terms when converting SAP objects to test search terms. You can specify multiple columns by separating each column name with a semicolon (;). If the setting is blank, LiveCompare uses the default setting: Catalog Title; Tile Title; Tile Subtitle; Tile Keywords.

FioriLaunchpadTransactionFieldNames

Specifies the possible column names in the /UI2/FLPCA export that contain transaction codes, such as VA01. You can specify multiple columns by separating each column name with a semicolon (;). For example, Application Ressource;Transaction (note that the spelling of ‘Resource’ is intentional as it matches the output from SAP). If the setting is blank, LiveCompare uses its default setting.

Web proxy settings

These settings allow LiveCompare to use a web proxy to connect to Azure DevOps, qTest, SAP Solution Manager, or Tosca. Complete the fields as follows:

WebProxyAddress The address of the web proxy.
WebProxyDomain The domain of the account to authenticate with the web proxy, if required.
WebProxyPassword The password of the account.
WebProxyUsername The username of the account.

Reports

This screen includes settings for LiveCompare reports. For example, you can set the base URL for generated reports or control the purging of reports and workflow data.

Table Contents

This screen includes settings for the retrieval and display of SAP table data.

RFC Calls

This screen includes settings for the retrieval of SAP data using remote function calls. By default, the RFC Trace directory is <LiveCompare user data dir>\Public\Logs.

Report Branding

This screen allows you to specify the image file you want to use in reports.

Configuration - Impact Analysis

This screen includes settings that control the behavior of LiveCompare’s impact analysis apps and workflows.

The Depth field allows you to specify the search depth that the Find Object Links action uses when searching for referenced objects. If you don't set this field, LiveCompare uses 10. The following apps and workflows use this setting:

The TypesToFind section allows you to specify the object types that LiveCompare’s impact analysis apps and workflows report as most-at-risk. If you don't select any object types, LiveCompare selects all object types. The following apps and workflows use these settings:

If you make changes in this screen, these changes affect all subsequent impact analyses and workflows. They don't affect existing app or workflow results.

Configuration - Test Repository

These settings control the behavior of the Search Test Repository and Create Test Requirements actions.

General

The Search Test Repository action uses the MinimumSearchTermLength setting to ignore search terms that are shorter than the specified length when it searches for matching test assets. If you don't set this field, LiveCompare uses all search terms regardless of their length.

Tosca

These settings control the behavior of the Search Test Repository action when searching Tosca repositories, and the Create Test Requirements action when creating requirements.

ALM

These settings control the behavior of the Search Test Repository action when searching ALM repositories, and the Create Test Requirements action when creating requirements.
