LiveCompare architecture

LiveCompare runs under IIS on a Windows server machine and can be accessed via a web browser from the server machine itself, or from one or more client machines using either http or https.

LiveCompare’s SAP components are installed on each SAP system to be used in an analysis. LiveCompare connects to these SAP systems using either remote function calls (RFC) or secure network connections (SNC). A special case is the SAP HANA Migration Assessment app. This app uses data downloaded from SAP and doesn't require any LiveCompare SAP components to be installed (other than a small data extract program).

LiveCompare integrates with several testing tools to find test assets for SAP executables that are identified as most-at-risk. LiveCompare can also integrate with:

  • External databases to provide access to external data.

  • Web Services to allow you to run LiveCompare workflows from external programs.

  • An LDAP server to manage user access.
