Create XBrowser Modules

With Tosca XScan, you can create XBrowser Modules to test web applications.

To work with the XBrowser Engine, you need to install the Tricentis Automation Extension for your browser. You can do this in different ways:

Install extension in the browser

You can install the Tricentis Automation Extension for the following browsers:

To install the Tricentis Automation Extension directly to your browser perform the following steps:

  1. Open a webpage in the browser for which you want to install the extension.

  2. Start scanning with Tosca Xscan and select your browser in the Select Application window. If you don't have the extension installed—or it's outdated—you'll get a notification.

  3. In the notification dialog, select Yes. This takes you to the extension's install page in the respective browser's extension store.

  1. On the extension's install page, perform the installation. The actual steps depend on your browser:

What's next?

Now that you have installed the Tricentis Automation Extension for your browser, you can scan Modules.

To scan Modules, right-click a Module folder or use the dynamic menu Modules and select Scan->Application. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + A.
