Configure Tricentis Virtual Mobile Grid

Tricentis Virtual Mobile Grid is an early access feature that is still under development. We can't guarantee full functionality in this or future versions.

Virtual Mobile Grid is our cloud-based solution for testing and executing native mobile applications on virtual devices. It lets you easily access and test different mobile devices without needing or worrying about maintaining physical devices.

To automate your mobile tests with Virtual Mobile Grid, follow these steps:

• Create Modules with Virtual Mobile Grid connection type.

• Set up Virtual Mobile Grid for test execution.

Create Modules with Virtual Mobile Grid

To create a Module with Virtual Mobile Grid connection type, follow these steps:

1. Start the Mobile Scan with one of the following methods:

   • Right-click a Module folder and select Scan->Mobile.

   • Via the dynamic menu Modules, select the  Scan icon and choose Mobile from the dropdown menu.

2. In the Select connection section, select Add connection and do the following:

   • Enter a name for your connection.

   • From the dropdown, choose the connection type Virtual Mobile Grid.

   • Enter your Virtual Mobile Grid token. To obtain your Virtual Mobile Grid token, please contact our support team.

3. Select a device and application. Note that when you select Virtual Mobile Grid as connection type and enter your token, the Mobile Scan automatically shows you the virtual devices and applications available for testing.

4. Select Connect.

5. Once your connection is established, choose Mobile Scan and select Scan.

6. Select and save the controls in your mobile app.

7. Create a TestStep from the Module.

Set up Virtual Mobile Grid for test execution

To set up Virtual Mobile Grid for test execution, follow these steps:

1. Add a test configuration parameter (TCP) and name it VmgToken.

2. Enter your Virtual Mobile Grid token as the value for the TCP.

3. In the Open Mobile App TestStep, set Application to your Waldo build ID.
