Upload to Tosca Cloud

We offer different integration options between Tosca on-premises and Tosca Cloud. With the transition option, you can upload an on-premises TestCase to Tosca Cloud. This creates a copy of your TestCase in a Tosca Cloud workspace that you specify during the upload.

Note that Tosca doesn't synchronize uploaded objects. If you upload a TestCase and then change it in Tosca Cloud, the change only affects the cloud version of the TestCase.

Before you start

Before you upload, make sure you have these things in place:

You have an on-premises repository that's connected to Tosca Cloud.
You have a user account for Tosca on-premises.
You have a Contributor account for Tosca Cloud.
You have access to the TestCase in Tosca on-premises. The TestCase isn't currently checked out by someone else. And, if the TestCase has restricted user rights, you're in the Owning Group.

Perform the upload

You can upload one TestCase at a time:

Check out the TestCase.
Right-click the TestCase and select Upload to Tosca Cloud from the context menu. Alternatively, use the Upload TestCase button in the TestCases or the Home ribbon menu.
Authenticate with your Tosca Cloud account credentials.
Select the Tosca Cloud workspace where you want to upload the TestCase.
To view your freshly uploaded TestCase in Tosca Cloud, select Jump to cloud in the upload success message. Keep in mind that the TestCase in Tosca Cloud is read-only.

What's included

Tosca uploads the TestCase and all test artifacts that are directly linked to this TestCase. For example, Modules or test configuration parameters you defined for this TestCase.

What's excluded

Tosca excludes the following objects from uploads:

Anything you defined for the project root element that also applies to the TestCase. For example, test configuration parameters on project root level or project definitions such as user permissions.
Anything that's not supported in Tosca Cloud. For example, Requirements or TestCaseDesign artifacts.

Upload TestCases multiple times

You can upload the same TestCase multiple times. For example:

If you want to upload an updated version of your TestCase to the same Tosca Cloud workspace.
If you want to upload the same TestCase into additional Tosca Cloud workspaces.

To do either, simply perform the upload again and choose your workspace.

If you upload the same TestCase to the same Tosca Cloud workspace again, Tosca overwrites the existing TestCase and connected test artifacts with the new versions.
