Manage offline leases

Offline leases let you transfer license capacity from NeoLoad Web to a NeoLoad GUI or another NeoLoad Web instance. This is useful when:

• NeoLoad GUI can't connect to NeoLoad Web to retrieve its license.

• You have multiple NeoLoad Web deployments and need to distribute your license across them.

When installed on another NeoLoad Web, the offline lease functions at the instance level, similar to a regular license.

Create an offline lease

Before you create an offline lease, retrieve the Client ID from the target system where you'll install the lease:

• For NeoLoad GUI, see Request a lease in offline mode in the NeoLoad documentation.

• For NeoLoad Web, the Client ID is displayed on the License page. For details, see Manage a license.

To create an offline lease, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Workspaces.

2. Select the workspace you want to configure.

3. Go to the Subscription tab.

4. Under Leases, select Create offline lease.

5. Configure the lease details:

   • Client ID: Enter the Client ID from the target NeoLoad GUI or NeoLoad Web instance.

   • Description: Add a description.

   • Duration: Set the lease duration and unit (hours or days). The lease is automatically released when the duration expires.

   • Concurrent runs: Specify the number of concurrent test runs allowed.

   • Virtual users: Set the maximum Web VUs and SAP VUs for this lease.

6. Select Save.

The offline lease appears in the Leases list with details about the owner, type, and allocated resources.

Release an offline lease before expiration

Offline leases are automatically released when their duration expires. If you need to release a lease before expiration, you must first generate a release file from the target system where the lease is installed.

To generate the release file:

• For NeoLoad GUI, see Request a release in offline mode in the NeoLoad documentation.

• For NeoLoad Web, generate the release file from the License page of the target instance.

Once you have the release file, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Workspaces.

2. Select the workspace with the lease you want to release.

3. Go to the Subscription tab.

4. In the Leases section, select Release offline lease.

5. Upload the release file generated from the target system.

The lease is released and the associated resources are returned to your account.
