Create populations
Populations define groups of virtual users that execute specific User Paths during your load test. By creating populations, you control how virtual users are distributed across different user behaviors in your application.
This guide shows you how to create and configure populations.
Create a population
To create a population, follow these steps:
-
Go to the Populations tab in the Design section.
-
Create a new population by selecting Add Population.
-
Add one or more User Paths to the population.
-
Assign percentages of virtual users to each User Path. The total must equal 100%.
Configure population settings
Configure these settings for your population:
-
User Path distribution - Define the percentage of virtual users that execute each User Path.
-
Ramp-up policy - Control how virtual users start during the test.
-
Pacing - Set delays between User Path iterations to simulate realistic user behavior.
What's next
After creating populations, create scenarios to define load profiles, test duration, and the number of users for your performance test.
