UserData Disk Usage

This workflow retrieves disk usage data for various subfolders of the user data directory on the LiveCompare server. The results are presented in a Dashboard report and an associated Excel report.

Prepare the workflow

To prepare UserData Disk Usage workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Tools folder into your own workspace.

To set the number of named categories displayed in each of the Dashboard report’s pie charts, select the Number of Categories String parameter and enter a value in the parameter’s String property. The default value is 3.

Click Save tool button. to save the workflow.

Run the workflow

To run the UserData Disk Usage workflow, click the Run tool button. toolbar button, choose Run Now from the context menu or select F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. When the workflow execution has completed, select a Report URL dataset and choose View Details from the context menu to display the Dashboard report.

Workflow results

The UserData Disk Usage workflow generates a Dashboard report which includes the following charts:

  • The Disk Usage by Category column chart displays the total disk usage for each of the UserData categories described here (excluding the ‘public’ and ‘private’ categories). The results are displayed using a logarithmic scale.

  • The Top Workspaces pie chart displays the disk usage for the largest Number of Categories workspaces, with the total disk usage for the other workspaces shown in the Other segment. Disk usage values are displayed in bytes.

  • The Top OLCs pie chart displays the disk usage for the largest Number of Categories object links cache databases, with the total disk usage for the other object links cache databases shown in the Other segment. Disk usage values are displayed in bytes.

  • The Top Reports pie chart displays the disk usage for the largest Number of Categories reports, with the total disk usage for the other reports shown in the Other segment. Disk usage values are displayed in bytes.

Userdata Disk Usage

This report includes the following columns:

  • Size: The size (in bytes) of the user data folder listed in the Path column.

  • HumanSize: The size of the user data folder listed in the Path column in a readable format.

  • Category: The user data folder’s category.

  • Path: The path to the user data folder on the LiveCompare server.

Analysis Input Data

This Excel report contains a copy of the input parameters used to produce the workflow’s Dashboard report. The value of each input parameter is stored in a separate worksheet, which is named after the parameter whose value it contains.
