Upgrade Vaults

This workflow upgrades Vaults created in LiveCompare 3.1 or later (version 2 vaults) to the implementation of Vaults used in LiveCompare 3.7 Release 2 (version 3 vaults). Vaults created in earlier releases of LiveCompare won't be able to be viewed or written to in this release until they have been upgraded.

Prepare the workflow

To prepare the Upgrade Vaults workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Tools folder into your own workspace. The workflow doesn't need to be customized.

Run the workflow

To run the Upgrade Vaults workflow, click the Run tool button. toolbar button, choose Run Now from the diagram’s context menu, or select F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. Depending upon the size and number of Vaults to be converted, the workflow may take several hours to complete. While it is running, don't run any workflows that use the Create Vault Report, Get Vault Data, Read Vault Data or Record Snapshot actions, or the Get Administration Objects action with its Object Type parameter set to Vault.

When the workflow execution has completed, select the Result dataset and choose View Details from the context menu to view the results of each of the Vault upgrades. The Result dataset has the following columns:

Column Description
VAULT The name of a Vault in the LiveCompare hierarchy.
SIZE_BEFORE(Kb) The size of the Vault before the upgrade (in KB).
SIZE_AFTER(Kb) The size of the Vault after the upgrade (in KB).
STATUS The Vault’s upgrade status.
ERROR This column contains details of any errors that occurred while upgrading the Vault.

The STATUS column may contain the following values:

Value Description
Upgraded The Vault was successfully upgraded to version 3.
Upgraded Previously The Vault is already at version 3. No upgrade is required.
Version is not version 2 The Vault couldn't be upgraded because its version is earlier than version 2. Please contact Tricentis support for assistance.
