Smart Impact App Variants Report
In releases of LiveCompare earlier than 4.8.0, the RFC Destinations and Test Repository used by the Smart Impact app were each provided as a separate parameter. However in LiveCompare 2025.2 patch 1, RFC Destinations and Test Repositories used by the app (as well as Test Repository search, requirements and execution paths) are provided in a Pipeline.
If you have upgraded to LiveCompare 2025.2 patch 1 from an LiveCompare 4.6 or earlier and you have existing variants of the Smart Impact app, these variants won't work with the new app because they don't include Pipelines. The Smart Impact App Variants Report workflow generates an Excel report which includes the following details for each of your earlier Smart Impact app variants.
-
The variant’s ID and name, and the number of times the variant has been run.
-
Whether the variant is private or shared.
-
The variant’s Analysis, Performance History, Comparison and SAP Solution Manager RFC Destinations.
-
The variant’s Compare Data? and Compare ABAP? settings.
-
The variant’s search Test Repository and Search Paths.
-
Whether the variant creates and runs test executions, and the Execution Name and Execution Path.
-
Whether the variant creates requirements, and the Requirements Path.
These details may be used to help create one or more Pipelines, which can be used with new variants of the Smart Impact app.
Prepare the workflow
To prepare the Smart Impact Variants App Report workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Tools folder into your own workspace, and set the App Name parameter to the name of your Smart Impact app from the earlier release of LiveCompare. If your earlier Smart Impact app was named ‘Smart Impact’, you don't need to modify this parameter.

Review the results
The following details from the App Variants report are used in Pipelines:
-
The variant’s Analysis, Performance History, Comparison and SAP Solution Manager RFC Destinations.
-
The variant’s search Test Repository and Search Paths.
-
Whether the variant creates and runs test executions, and the Execution Name and Execution Path.
-
Whether the variant creates requirements, and the Requirements Path.
Review the results to determine which Pipelines will need to be created. Note that a Pipelines may include more than one search Test Repository, each with its associated Search Paths.
Create Pipelines
The next step is to create one or more Pipelines to cover each of the RFC Destination and Test Repository configurations required to perform each of your earlier analyses.
Create and run new variants
Finally, you will need to create and run new variants of the Smart Impact app. Each new variant should specify a Pipeline, the objects to analyze, and the required Compare Data? and Compare ABAP? settings.
