Delete External Data Sources

If you have LiveCompare Editor or Administrator permissions, an External Data Source or External Data Folder can be deleted as follows:

  1. Select an External Data Source or External Data Folder from the Data > External Data Sources folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy.
  2. Choose Delete from the context menu.

If an Access, CSV, Excel or SQLite External Data Source is deleted, the associated database, spreadsheet or text file is removed from the <LiveCompare user data dir>\public\ExternalDataFiles directory. If an SQL Server, DB2 External or HANA Database External Data Source is deleted, the associated SQL Server, DB2 or SAP HANA database is unaffected.

If a REST API External Data Source is deleted, any API tokens associated with it are also deleted.

If an External Data Folder is deleted, all the External Data Sources and Folders underneath it are also deleted.

Note that when an External Data Source is deleted, it is removed from all Resource Groups of which it is a member.
