Execute test and approve test run (post execution approval)
Now that the test case is approved, it can be executed. In this section, we will create, execute, and approve a test run:
Create test cycle
To create a test cycle, follow these steps:

Sign in to qTest.

Open the Vera Tutorial project.

Click Test Execution.

To add a test cycle, click the add icon
at the top left corner. -
Enter
Tutorial Testsin the Name field. -
Enter
A test cycle for tutorial test executionsin the Description field. -
Click Statistics and select Add.

Select the test module from the Test Cases tab and click Tutorial Test Case 1.

Click Add.
Execute test run
After you complete all approval tasks for Tutorial Test Case 1, execute a test run:

Select the test run Tutorial Test Case 1.
-
Click the down arrow beside Run and select TestPad Only.

Enter the Actual Result and Status for each step:

In step 1 Actual Result field, enter
user list displayedand pass the step. -
In step 2 Actual Result field, enter
new user form displayedand pass the step. -
In step 3 Actual Result field, enter
user record 8686842 created successfully.

Save this image to your desktop as a png or jpg.

Click the Attachment (paperclip) button on step 3 next to Actual Result.

Upload the image as a test step attachment .

Pass step 3.

To pass the test run, select Passed from the Set Status dropdown, click Save, and close the test pad browser window.
Route test run for approval
To route a test run for approval, follow these steps:

On the Test Execution page, select the test run ID that you just executed. For example,
TR-1. -
On the Test Run page, select Route for Approval.

To confirm, select Proceed and OK & Refresh.
The Vera Approval Route field will contain the message:
Approval route request is being processed. Please reload page to update. -
Reload the page.
The Vera Approval Route field will contain the approval route with approval task links:

Level 1 - Technical Approval
-
Level 2 - Business Approval
-
Level 3 - Quality Approval

Approve test run (post execution approval of test run)
To approve the test run, you will use the accounts you created and added to the Tutorial domain.
Level 1 Technical Approval (using the approval task link in qTest)
To complete level 1 Technical Approval tasks, follow these steps:

Select Tutorial Test Case 1 test run.

Navigate to the Vera Approval Route section of the test run.

View the approval route.
-
Click the Level 1 Technical Approval Task to navigate to Vera.

Sign in to Vera as
tutor_tech (Technical Approver). -
View the test run detail in Vera:

Expand Execution Logs, Test Logs and Steps to view test run details.
-
Click step 3 attachment button to view the attachment.
-
Select Print View to see the entire test run and image attachments.
-
Click Approve.
-
Enter your Password.
-
Click Submit.
Technical Approval task is complete.

Sign out of Vera.
Level 1 Business Approval (using the approval queue)
For level 1 Business Approval, follow these steps:

Sign in to Vera as
tutor_bus (Business Approver). -
The Approval Queue is displayed with pending approval tasks.

Search and select Tutorial Test Case 1 in the Record Name field to view the test run detail in Vera.
-
Select the Activity History to see the audit log of Vera events including previous signatures.

Click Approve.

Enter your Password.
-
Click Submit.
Level 1 Approval Tasks are complete

Sign out of Vera.
Level 2 Quality Approval (using the approval queue)
For level 2 Quality Approval, follow these steps:

Sign in to Vera as
tutor_qa (Quality Approver). -
The Approval Queue is displayed with pending approval tasks.

Search and select Tutorial Test Case 1 in the Record Name field to select the Test Run for approval.

Click Approve.

Enter your Password.
-
Click Submit.
Test Run has been approved

Sign out of Vera.
