SMTP server management
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server management includes:
Define mail server settings
To define mail server settings, follow these steps:

Select Main Settings in Vera Administration.

Complete the form.
From: Specify the email address used in the Sender address or From field of notification messages sent by Vera. vera Specify the hostname or IP address of your SMTP mail server.
For example: smtp.yourcompany.com
Port: The SMTP port number, usually 25 for SMTP or 465 for SMTPS. Use TLS: Select this checkbox if your SMTP host uses the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. User Name: If your SMTP host requires authentication, specify the username of these authentication credentials here. Password: If your SMTP host requires authentication, specify the password associated with the username above.
When editing an existing SMTP mail server, select the Change Password checkbox to access and change this field.

Optionally, to check if Vera can communicate with the mail server you just configured, select Test Connection.

To save the mail server settings, select Save Changes.
 
Send test email
To send a test email, follow these steps:

Select Mail Settings in Vera Administration.
 - 
                                                    
Select Send Test Email after you configured Vera with the mail server.
 - 
                                                    
Complete the form:
To Address: email recipient Subject: message topic Body: message text  - 
                                                    
To trigger test email, select Send Test Email.
 
Note: Leave the password field blank if your SMTP server doesn't require authentication.
