Uploads: supported test artifacts
When you integrate the two, you can upload your Tosca on-prem test artifacts to Tosca Cloud. This topic lists the following:
-
Supported test artifacts for direct upload, as well as included and excluded resources.
-
Current restrictions for ExecutionLists.
Supported test artifacts for direct upload
The table in this section shows which versions of Tosca on-prem support direct uploads of specific test artifacts.
Some versions don't allow you to upload certain artifacts on their own. However, even in these versions, you can still upload these artifacts indirectly, if they're an included resource of an artifact that the version does support.
Let's say you're on version 2024.1. In this version, you can't upload a module by itself because the version doesn't support direct module uploads. However, if you upload a test case, Tosca on-prem also uploads all modules connected to this test case. In this case, you upload the modules indirectly, as part of a supported artifact.

Included resources
The upload includes the test artifact itself:
-
If you upload test cases (created with or without TestCase-Design): all test steps, including disabled test steps
-
If you upload ExecutionLists: all ExecutionEntries
-
If you upload modules: all attributes, properties, and screenshots
-
If you upload Reusable TestStepBlocks: all test steps, business parameters
It also includes test artifacts that are directly linked to the object you upload:
-
Modules
-
TestCases
-
Reusable test steps
-
Conditions
-
Repetitions
-
Recovery scenarios
-
Test configuration parameters
Excluded resources
The upload doesn’t include the following test artifacts:
-
Any artifacts you defined at the project root level that also apply to the test artifacts you're uploading. For example, test configuration parameters or user permissions.
-
Any artifacts you have defined in other areas that also apply to test artifacts you're uploading. For example:
-
TestCase-Design artifacts, such as TestSheets
-
TestCase Templates
-
Requirements
-
Artifacts in the ‘My Area’ or ‘Issues’ sections
-
TestEvents
-
OSV scenarios
-
Configurations. However, Tosca on-prem does upload the test configuration parameters stored in a configuration. Tosca Cloud displays these test configuration parameters on the respective test cases or playlists—where you can edit them—and applies them during test runs.
-
-
Folders.
-
Manual TestSteps.
-
XModule References.
-
Links between uploaded tests and other products in the Tricentis portfolio. For example, if you integrate Tosca on-prem with qTest or LiveCompare.

ExecutionList has 2500 TestCases or less.
-
ExecutionList name is 1 - 140 characters.
-
ExecutionList description is 0 - 300 characters.
-
Test configuration parameter names are 1 - 1024 characters.
-
Test configuration parameter values are 0 - 1024 characters.
-
Folder nesting is 15 levels or less.
