AI Chat

We added this functionality in a patch. To use AI Chat, you need to install patch 3 or later.

AI Chat replaces Tosca Agentic Test Automation. If you don't install patch 3, you continue to use Tosca Agentic Test Automation.

AI Chat brings AI to your testing workflows, directly in Tosca. Use it to create and maintain test cases. There's no need to set up or connect an external AI assistant.

This topic introduces the AI Chat components and explains how to set up AI Chat.

AI Chat requires these components:

Description

Tosca

The source of all testing data and capabilities.

Tosca MCP Server

An add-in that acts as the bridge between Tosca and AI Chat. It communicates through an HTTP connection and provides access to Tosca's capabilities.

Tosca Cloud

Method of authentication.

To use AI Chat, you must have a valid Tosca Cloud tenant.

Before you start

To set up and use AI Chat, you need the following:

  • Tosca Cloud tenant. If you haven't registered yet, ask your administrator to register for Tosca Cloud (opens in a new tab). It only takes a few minutes.

  • Multi-user repository. AI Chat doesn't work with single-user repositories.

  • Free disk space on the machine where you use AI Chat. You need at least as much free space as the size of your repository.

  • For environments that use an outbound firewall, Tosca needs access to specific network addresses for AI Chat to work. For the full list, check out "Outbound network requirements for AI features".

Enable AI Chat

To enable AI Chat, follow these steps:

  1. Connect your repository to Tosca Cloud. For detailed information, check out "Set up transition to Tosca Cloud".

  2. Activate the Tosca MCP Server. To do so, populate these settings in Project > Options > McpServerAddin.

  3. Restart Tosca Commander.
