Adding artificial intelligence to your testing efforts is quick and easy. How you want to use Tosca Agentic Test Automation determines your setup process.

To get started, you'll need internet access on the machine running Tosca Agentic Test Automation.

Once you meet this requirement, use the following instructions to install and access Tosca Agentic Test Automation.

Access to Tosca Cloud

To access Tosca Agentic Test Automation, you'll need Tosca Cloud credentials.

Never used Tosca Cloud? If you're not an administrator, ask one to register for a trial period here (opens in a new tab). This process only takes a couple of minutes.

Find your tenant name

Take note of your tenant name in your Tosca Cloud URL: https://<your tenant name>.my.tricentis.com. For example, if your Tosca Cloud URL is https://acmecompany.my.tricentis.com, your tenant name is acmecompany.

You'll need your tenant name throughout the setup process.

Access Tosca Agentic Test Automation

Tosca Agentic Test Automation is accessible through the Addon tab in the ribbon menu of Tosca Commander. You can access Tosca Agentic Test Automation from here anytime.

However, to use it for the first time, you must sign in using your Tosca Cloud credentials:

  1. In the Addon tab, select Tosca Agentic Test Automation and follow the instructions to sign in. During sign-in, you need your Tosca Cloud tenant name.

  2. Enter your Tosca Cloud credentials in the prompt window.

  3. Accept the Terms of Use to finish the sign-in process.

You're set up and ready to start using artificial intelligence in your testing process!

Here's what you need to get started:

  • Correct screen display settings: scale set to 100% and resolution set to 1920 x 1080.

  • Internet access on the machine running Tosca Agentic Test Automation.

Once you meet these requirements, use the following instructions to install and access Tosca Agentic Test Automation.

Note: If you're already using Vision AI, please contact Tricentis Customer Support for information on how to use Vision AI for both Tosca Agentic Test Automation and for test execution.

Manage browser settings

To allow Tosca Agentic Test Automation to do its best work, you need to make adjustments to your browser settings.

Allow browser notifications

Without browser notifications Tosca Agentic Test Automation can't ask for instructions, and your tests may stall. To allow browser notifications, you need to adjust settings both in your browser and on your local machine.

Follow these instructions to adjust your browser settings:

  1. Select the menu button in the top of the window and select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  2. Select Privacy and security from the left menu and then Site permissions.

  3. Select Notifications and then scroll down to the section Allowed to send notifications.

  4. Select Add and paste the web address for your Tosca Cloud domain.

  5. Select Add to save.

Follow these instructions to adjust settings on your local machine. These instructions are specific to Window operating systems. The process may vary from system to system.

  1. Open Settings and go to System > Notifications.

  2. Turn on Notifications and turn off Do not disturb.

  3. Check Focus to be sure there are no active focus sessions.

Adjust Microsoft Edge browser settings

If you use Microsoft Edge, you must disable the rounded corners feature. Vision-based automation like Tosca Agentic Test Automation is sensitive to pixel-level differences and will perform poorly if it can't successfully detect contours and dialog borders.

Follow these instructions to disable rounded corners:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and enter edge://flags in the address bar.

  2. Search for "rounded".

  3. Set Microsoft Edge rounded corners to Disabled.

Access to Tosca Cloud

To access Tosca Agentic Test Automation, you'll need Tosca Cloud credentials.

Take note of your tenant name in your Tosca Cloud URL: https://<your tenant name>.my.tricentis.com. For example, if your Tosca Cloud URL is https://acmecompany.my.tricentis.com, your tenant name is acmecompany.

Adjust Vision AI settings

Vision AI is part of the Tosca installation and required for using Tosca Agentic Test Automation. To prepare Vision AI and facilitate communication, you need to adjust settings in Vision AI and in Tosca.

Adjust settings in Vision AI

To prepare Vision AI to work with Tosca Agentic Test Automation, follow these steps:

  1. Open Vision AI Settings by searching for the app on your machine.

  2. Right click the Vision AI icon in the task bar and select Settings from the menu.

  3. Select Set Server URL and enter the following URL:

    https://vision-ai.app.tricentis.com/<your Tosca Cloud tenant name>

  4. Sign in with your Tosca Cloud credentials.

Adjust settings in Tosca

To ensure Vision AI and Tosca communicate with each other, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Project > Settings > TBox > Extension loading.

  2. Add a new CollectionEntry with the name VisionAIEngine and value C:\Program Files (x86)\TRICENTIS\Tosca Testsuite\Vision AI\TBoxExtension. Adjust the path to reflect your directory's naming convention.

  3. Ensure you've updated the TBox synchronization timeout settings as described in Vision AI's documentation (opens in new tab).

  4. Restart Tosca.

Access Tosca Agentic Test Automation

Tosca Agentic Test Automation is accessible through the Addon tab in the ribbon menu of Tosca Commander. You can access Tosca Agentic Test Automation from here anytime.

Configure outbound firewalls

If your environment uses an outbound firewall, Tosca needs access to specific network addresses for AI features to work properly. For detailed information, check out "Outbound network requirements for AI features".

Check your AI credits

Tosca Agentic Test Automation tracks your usage with AI credits. Each test interaction costs one credit. This includes clicks, text inputs, verifications, and buffer actions. All interactions count, even if they don't match your original test intent.

To check your credit status, go to the Tosca Agentic Test Automation settings. It shows you the following information:

  • Total credits assigned to your account.

  • Credits remaining.

Tosca Agentic Test Automation shows a warning when your balance drops below 5,000 credits.

If you reach 0 credits during a session, you can finish that session. New sessions are blocked until you add more credits.
