AI data usage policy
Through Vision AI, Tricentis presents a new approach to testing that combines Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN) with advanced heuristics to deliver stable, self-healing, and platform-agnostic UI automation. Vision AI and Tricentis Tosca are a powerful combination that can automate even the most complicated UI systems.
Where we use AI
Currently, all features of Vision AI rely on AI to help you in your testing journey.
Vision AI is integrated into Tricentis Tosca starting with version 14.0 and is installed as part of the Install Tricentis Tosca via setup dialog.
Data processing
The data is always transferred via a secure connection using HTTPS (TLS 1.2).
Tricentis employees operate the cloud components of the Vision AI service, which is a solution that runs on the Microsoft Azure platform.
The Azure OCR service is the only third party involved in the operation of Vision AI. It processes screenshots to obtain the text content. Microsoft operates this service in the same data processing regions as the Vision AI service. All data stored on the Azure platform is encrypted. This service deletes customer data after it's done processing. For more information on data protection, see Cognitive Services Compliance and Privacy | Microsoft Azure (opens in a new tab).
To analyze screenshots, Vision AI uses Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN or DCNN), which are regularly re-trained on a large amount of data. The training involves user data and prompts. You have the option to opt out of it using the controls on the Vision AI web portal. The execution process of Vision AI does not involve the use of generative AI, such as GPT, to process screenshots.
Where we store data
The Vision AI service uses Azure data centers. Customers can choose where their data is stored and processed.
The following regions are currently available:
-
Europe (the Netherlands, with backup servers in Ireland)
-
UK (London)
-
USA (Washington)
-
Australia (New South Wales)
The European data centers are also responsible for processing and storing authentication data (Tricentis User Authentication) and top-level customer settings. This centralized data is not stored in the other regional data centers.
Data retention
We store the data that these features require to work on the Vision AI servers. Data is processed on the Azure OCR service but not stored. For more information on data retention, see Data storage in Vision AI (opens in a new tab).
Opt out
You can uninstall the Vision AI component from your machine at any time to opt out of its AI features. The rest of your Tricentis Tosca (on-premises) installation is not affected if you uninstall the Vision AI component.
Note that Vision AI only collects information from your tests when prompted to do so, such as when you actively use one of its features. When you uninstall Vision AI, Tricentis Tosca no longer connects to the AI services provided by Tricentis.
Terms of use
Use of Vision AI service is subject to the Tricentis General Terms of Use and the Tricentis AI Solutions Product-Specific Terms. Vision AI also may incorporate technology from third party providers that requires Tricentis to pass through additional terms to our customers. Information about these third-party policies is available here.
