Create SAP Modules

You can create SAP Modules with XScan.

In Tosca Commander, right-click a Module folder or use the dynamic menu Modules and select Scan ->Application. For detailed information, see chapter "Create Modules by scanning".

Due to a technical restriction of SAP, you can only scan the SAP Logon Pad or the SAP Logon separately. You must close the other window while scanning.

Scan embedded HTML controls in SAP

You can scan HTML controls that are embedded in SAP transactions. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Run XScan.

  2. In the Select Application window, right-click the preview of an SAP window and from the context menu, choose which context you want to scan. An SAP transaction might contain more than one embedded HTML context. Select which HTML context you want to scan, for example:

    • For the first embedded HTML context that appears in an SAP transaction, select Html (Internet Explorer Embedded) from the context menu.

    • For the second HTML context that appears in an SAP transaction, select Html (Internet Explorer Embedded)_2 from the context menu.

Html (Internet Explorer Embedded) options in the Select Application window

  1. Click Scan.

Instead of showing SAP controls, XScan displays HTML controls that are embedded in the transaction you scan.

  2. Continue as described in chapter "Select controls in the test object".

If you want to scan SAP controls at this point, you can click the Select new Application button. Because the Sap option is default in Select Application window, you don't need to change the scanning context again.

You have to run XScan more than once or use the Select new Application option to scan one transaction in the following situations:

  • If you want to create Modules for both HTML and SAP controls. For each context, choose a respective option from the context menu in the Select Application window.

  • If you want to scan multiple HTML contexts in the same SAP transaction. For each HTML context, choose a respective option from the context menu in the Select Application window.
