Get started with SAP Solution Manager Integration
Before you run the SAP Solution Manager Wizard, you have to perform the following actions:
![]() |
If you use Tosca Commander with a Test Automation Framework, the user interface language automatically switches to English, regardless of the language previously selected. |
Add SAP .NET Connector libraries
To use the SAP Solution Manager integration, download the SAP .NET Connector from the SAP Service Marketplace (opens in new tab).
For information on the required SAP .NET Connector versions, check out the system requirements for the SAP Solution Manager integration for Tosca and for Tosca Server.

-
Download and install SAP .NET Connector version 3.0 for both 32-bit and 64-bit system types from the SAP Service Marketplace.
You must download and install both the 32-bit and 64-bit version regardless of your system type.
-
Browse to the installation directory of the SAP .NET Connector and copy the libraries sapnco.dll and sapnco_utils.dll from the 32-bit version to the %COMMANDER_HOME%\x86 directory and from the 64-bit version to the %COMMANDER_HOME%\x64 directory.

To run the SAP Solution Manager Wizard on Tosca, follow these steps:
-
Install SAP .NET Connector on every machine running Tosca.
-
Go to the SAP .NET Connector installation directory.
-
Copy the sapnco.dll and sapnco_utils.dll libraries and paste them to %COMMANDER_HOME%\x64.
To run the SAP Solution Manager Wizard on Tosca Server, follow these steps:
-
Download SAP .NET Connector on your Tosca Server machine.
-
Go to the SAP .NET Connector installation directory.
-
Copy the sapnco.dll, sapnco_utils.dll, and ijwhost.dll libraries and paste them to C:\Program Files (x86)\TRICENTIS\Tosca Server\SapSolutionManagerService.
Create a multi-user workspace
Because objects need to be checked in and out, you have to use a multi-user repository which all SAP Solution Manager users can access.
For detailed information on how to create multi-user workspaces and common repositories, see chapter "Create multi-user workspaces".
Choose how to trigger test execution
The standard installation of the integration allows you to trigger test execution from Tricentis Tosca and view your test execution logs directly in SAP Solution Manager. To trigger the execution from SAP Solution Manager and extend the functionality of the integration, set up the SAP Solution Manager Service. Together with Tosca Server, the SAP Solution Manager Service allows you to control test execution directly from SAP Solution Manager. This gives you extended control over your test execution flow.
Note that the SAP Solution Manager Service is compatible with SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SP 17and higher
Set up the SAP Solution Manager Service

-
Download and install SAP Solution Manager Service on the Tosca Server machine.
-
Add your project to Administration Console and enable Notification Service for it.
-
Set up ToscaDistributed Execution with AOS on your Tosca Server machine:
-
Create the AOS workspace of the repository type Tricentis Server Repository. The AOS workspace needs to be connected to your common repository database. Take note of the workspace name.
-
Assign a dedicated user to the AOS workspace and take note of this user's credentials.
-
In Tosca Commander, go to Project > Settings > Tricentis Services > Tricentis Services Endpoint and enter the address of your Tosca Server. For instance, https://<ToscaServerHostname>/.
-
-
In your current Tosca Server repository, create a new multi-user workspace for the SAP Solution Manager Service. Note the following:
-
This workspace needs to be connected to your common repository database.
-
This workspace only performs background tasks and shouldn't be accessible to ordinary users to create or execute tests. Consequently, assign only one dedicated user to this repository. Don't use the same user from the previous step.
-
Take note of the SAP Solution Manager Service workspace name and the credentials of the exclusive user you assigned to this workspace.
-
-
On the Tosca Server machine, configure the following services via Service Configuration:
-
Notification Service: select the checkbox next to SAP Solution Manager Integration.
-
Automation Object Service: use the details from step 4.
-
SAP Solution Manager Service: use the details from step 5.
-
-
On the Tosca Server machine, start both Tricentis.SapSolutionManagerService and Tricentis.Tosca.RestApiService:
-
Open the Services application of your Windows operating system.
-
Locate and right-click the respective service in the list.
-
In the Service status section, select Start and OK.
-
Make sure you have performed these steps for both services.
-
-
Start your Tosca Distributed Execution Agents.

- Add your project to Administration Console and enable Notification Service for it.
-
Set up ToscaDistributed Execution with AOS on your Tosca Server machine:
-
Create the AOS workspace of the repository type Tricentis Server Repository and connect it to your common repository database. Take note of the workspace name.
-
Assign a dedicated user to the AOS workspace and take note of this user's credentials.
-
Access Tosca Commander > Project > Settings > Tricentis Services > Tricentis Services Endpoint and enter the address of your Tosca Server. For example, https://<ToscaServerHostname>/.
-
-
In your current Tosca Server repository, create a new multi-user workspace for the SAP Solution Manager Service:
-
Connect this workspace to the common repository database.
-
Assign a single dedicated user to this repository, different from the one used in the previous step as this workspace is for background tasks only and shouldn't be accessed by regular users for test creation or execution.
-
Take note of the SAP Solution Manager Service workspace name and the credentials of the exclusive user you assigned to this workspace.
-
-
On the Tosca Server machine, configure the following services via Service Configuration:
-
Notification Service: select the check-box next to SAP Solution Manager Integration.
-
-
Download and copy the appropriate files into service installation folder as described in Add SAP .NET Connector libraries
-
Access Windows Services and change the Service start-up to Automatic.
-
Start both Tricentis.SapSolutionManagerService and Tricentis.Tosca.RestApiService on the Tosca Server machine:
-
Open the Windows Services application > right-click the respective service > Service status > select Start and OK.
-
Perform these steps for both services.
-
-
Start your Tosca Distributed Execution Agents.
