Mobile Engine 3.0
The latest version of Tricentis Tosca offers a variety of enhancements to the Mobile Scan:
-
You can now use the IsAppium2 TCP to detect Appium Server 2.0 or higher.
-
To automatically display the cloud devices connected to the Tricentis Device Cloud, use the new TDC connection type.
-
To reduce the number of pop-up windows, the Mobile Scan window now has a section for selecting a connection.
-
Based on the connection type, the Mobile Scan automatically displays the connected devices. If you select the Local (TMA) or Remote (TMA) connection type, Mobile Scan automatically displays the applications you've installed on the selected device.
-
You can now install an application from your computer to your device using the Local (TMA) or Remote (TMA) connection type.
Oracle Engine 3.0
Our new Oracle Engine 3.0 helps you test and release your Oracle Fusion applications with confidence. It uses Oracle's unique framework (ADF Faces) to identify objects and gives you effective and resilient automation, even for the most complex objects.
PDF Engine 3.0
Our PDF Engine 3.0 gives you even more flexibility for PDF file comparisons with the 1:1 Compare Module:
-
You can ignore whitespaces in text-only comparisons with the new Ignore whitespaces in text-only comparison setting.
-
You can define a custom reports directory with the new Compare failed pages directory setting.
Salesforce Engine 3.0
Version 2023.1 of the Salesforce Engine 3.0 introduces the following enhancements:
-
Extended Salesforce support. We now support the Salesforce Spring '23 release.
-
Improved performance of scan and test execution, which reduces your Time to Results.
Tosca Distributed Execution with AOS
You can now use an MS SQL Server database for AOS jobs, instead of the default SQLite. This eliminates concurrency issues, which means your big, complex test sets run smoother and more reliably.
Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant
Our latest version of Tricentis Tosca makes your recording experience much more consistent. We've replaced the Recorder with the Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant (Tricentis ARA), which is now embedded in Tosca Commander. This means you can immediately start Tricentis ARA, record your tests, and save your recordings without having to import your recordings or leave Tosca.
Tricentis Data Integrity
Tosca 2023.1 offers even more options to connect to your data and verify its quality. As of this version, you can use JDBC connections in these Tricentis DI database Modules:
Tricentis File Service and Notification Service: additional database support
We now support SQLite or MS SQL databases for Tricentis File Service metadata and for Notification Service data. This gives you greater flexibility to use the database that best fits your processes.
UIA Engine 3.0
The UIA Engine 3.0 now recognizes and steers the control type Label, so you can put your Microsoft® UI Automation framework to the test. Additionally, we've introduced Self-healing Mode. This means that you can execute your TestCases without failing, even if a control in your application has changed.
WinX Engine 3.0
Extend your test coverage even further with the upgraded WinX Engine 3.0:
-
You can now test applications based on the newest Powerbuilder versions.
-
You can now scan and steer Powerbuilder DataWindow controls. Please note that this is an early access feature.
XBrowser Engine 3.0
If you still have pages that require the retired Internet Explorer, we've got you covered. The new value InternetExplorerInEdge for the TCP Browser lets you open pages with Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer mode.
Other exciting updates for XBrowser Engine 3.0:
-
Easier identification of pages that you want to run JavaScripts on. The Modules Execute JavaScript and Verify JavaScript Result have new Attributes that let you identify the correct page, even if you have multiple pages with the same title open.
-
More flexibility and control in your tests that use WebDriver capabilities. The XBrowser Engine 3.0 now supports dynamic expressions in these test configurations.
-
Increased efficiency in the debugging process for applications that you steer with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The latest XBrowser Engine 3.0 adds two new Modules to the Standard subset, Start HTML Log Monitoring and Stop HTML Log Monitoring. Use these Modules to keep track of and retrieve your console logs or network logs.
-
Enhanced test adaptability to customize your executions via WebDriver. The new TCP WebDriverUserProfilePreference_<PreferenceName> lets you set user profile preferences with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
-
Additional information about how user-accessible your web applications are. The latest version of our XBrowser Engine 3.0 lets you reuse existing TestCases to validate your HTML web application's accessibility compliance. That means you can now run web accessibility tests side-by-side with your functional HTML tests, either on a Module Accessibility level, or to test every input. Use the accessibility test results to increase your application's usability and accessibility. Please note: this is an early access feature. To use it, first you need to enable it.

Known issue
Mobile Engine 3.0
The SendKeys function sends the input text to the active window with input capabilities, instead of the connected mobile device. To address this issue, use the Send Text Input to Focused Control Module.
Salesforce Engine 3.0
When using dual listboxes, elements you select might not appear in the Chosen section. To solve this issue, use the command {DOUBLECLICK} in your TestCase to select an element.
SAP Engine 3.0
If you scan SAP GUI 8.0 applications based on the x64 architecture, Tosca XScan throws an unexpected error.
Moreover, the SAP Logon Module returns an exception if you specify a x64 executable for the SapLogonPath ModuleAttribute.
