AI data usage policy

qTest Copilot solutions integrate the power of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service with qTest.

Microsoft provides enterprise level data privacy and data security compliance. It maintains a multi-jurisdictional AI compliance program for its AI services. Copilot is designed to enhance user productivity in testing and accelerate the delivery of high-quality software without compromising the privacy of your data.

Tricentis is focused on ensuring responsible and trustworthy use of AI in our products. We were guided by the AI principles from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which include transparency, privacy adherence, human control, fair application and accountability. Additionally, we adhere in good faith to the Code of Conduct for Azure OpenAI Service.

Where we use AI

Currently, all features of qTest Copilot rely on AI to help you in your testing journey.

Data processing

Data flowchart for qTest Copilot.

qTest Copilot collects and processes one or more of the following data points to provide you with answers:

  • Requirement details and metadata, such as which test cases the requirement covers.

  • The generated test case and test steps, only if the user selects Regenerate.

Where we store data

Your data is securely stored in the region you selected as preferred when you configured qTest. When you activate qTest Copilot for the first time, it detects your preferred region and handles your data in that location.

  • East US 2 - Virginia

  • East Australia - New South Wales

  • Central France - Paris

Data retention

Your data is securely handled and processed only for a limited amount of time:

  • In Microsoft's Azure OpenAI systems for up to 30 days.

Note that we don't use your queries for model training purposes and that any personal Identifiable Information (PII) is anonymized and/or automatically redacted without human intervention. This means that the chat data cannot be directly traced back to the identity of the user/company that submitted the prompt.

Opt out

You can deactivate qTest Copilot at any time to opt out of its AI features. Your original installation of qTest is not affected if you turn off this feature.

Note that qTest Copilot only collects information from your tests if prompted to do so, such as when you actively use one of its features. When you deactivate qTest Copilot, qTest no longer connects to the AI services provided by Tricentis.

Usage limits

To ensure adequate performance and resource allocation for all users, Tricentis has established the following use limits:

  • Each qTest Enterprise AI user license contributes 500 prompts for Test Case Generation to the total pool of available prompts across all users.

  • Additional prompts for Test Case Generation may be licensed for added fees.

Enforcement of these use limits is at the discretion of Tricentis to maintain service quality. Should you have any questions regarding these limits or need assistance with modifying your plan, please contact your account representative.
