Subscribe to Data Export

Before you can download your data through the qTest Data Export API, you need to sign up and wait for data onboarding. After you're granted access, you can obtain your API access key. That's the access key you need to send with each call to the API, so you can download your raw data.

Not sure whether Data Export fits your scenario? See Is Data Export right for your use case? before you request access.

Get started with Data Export

To get access to Data Export, contact your customer success manager or email qtestproductteam@tricentis.com. Include the following information in your request:

  • Account name

  • ClientID

  • Your region
  • Environment URL
  • Intended destination
  • Case or ticket number, if applicable

What we'll do for you

During onboarding, we upload your historical data to the Tricentis repository and send you the API key your team needs to access the Data Export API.

The amount of time it takes to upload your historical data can vary depending on the amount of data you have in qTest. There's nothing to do on your end during the upload, but we recommend that you use this time to set up your teams and create your database.

When your historical data is ready, usually in about 2-4 weeks, we send your account administrator an email. You have 90 days to download the data from the API before it expires. Each uploaded dataset is available for 90 days, including your daily delta syncs. The initial snapshot reflects the state of your data at the moment onboarding begins. Historical changes made before that date are not included and can't be retrieved retroactively. From the moment onboarding starts, all subsequent changes are captured via daily delta syncs that only include data that is new or updated since the previous sync.

Give your team access

Everybody who wants access to the Data Export API needs the following:

  • The API access key that you'll receive from us. Be careful who you share this key with, because all users will use the same key for every API call.

  • An active qTest bearer token. You'll need this to access the general qTest API platform.

  • Tricentis Analytics Viewer user group membership.

Data Export doesn't support SSO.

What's next

You have your API access key. Now, access your data with the Data Export API, so you can use it to understand and refine your testing processes.
