Manager 2024.4 Release Notes

December 2024

With Manager 2024.4, we're bringing you a few bugfixes and general improvements to your qTest experience, including updates to the API, user management, and installation processes.

Improved Search API performance

We improved the Search API performance and added the new includeTestLogProperties parameter. This parameter controls whether or not you retrieve Test Log Properties when you search for Test Logs. By default, it's set to False to help you retrieve test logs quickly.

Updates to user management

Updated how user groups save

If you're done editing or creating a user group, now you need to select Save and then Close to save and close the user group when you're finished.

Streamlined new user invitations

We made the user invitation process more simple and secure.

Now, when you send an invite to a new user, qTest uses the primary email address to validate user authenticity. The invited user needs to access the invite link directly from the invitation email, and administrators can't view the invite link from inside qTest.

After the user is in the system, administrators can't update the user's primary email. To update the primary email, you can create a new user and deactivate the old email address. Or, have your administrator contact support.

Simplified password recovery

We removed recovery emails as a password reset option. Now, users can access the password reset link directly from their primary email.

Security updates

We've performed some background changes to improve the overall security of qTest Manager.

That means we've made a few changes to your installation process, including adding a new secret key and a cipher suite configuration file.

Set a custom cipher suite

We've removed the WeakCipherSuites option from the installer and added the new ssl_ciphers.config configuration file. This file contains the ciphers that are enforced by all qTest components, and you can add or remove ciphers from it as you go.

New secret key

We've added a new integration secret key to your qTest installation process. Keep this key in a safe place! You'll need to provide it during each future upgrade, as well as to all nodes that run Manager or Launch if you perform a multinode installation.

Known issues

Issues with custom field values in shared test cases

There are a few locations shared test case custom field values don't show up for projects where the test case is shared to:

  • Test Run Detail report.

  • Test Execution, if the test run isn't linked to the latest version of the shared test case.

Don't worry, a fix is on the way.

Import Test Case Wizard buttons in Chrome browser

If you're using a Chrome browser set to 100% zoom, the Import, Cancel, and Back buttons don't display properly. As a workaround, you can reduce the zoom to 90% to view these options.

Embed Script option returns error

On the Quality Analysis page in Insights, if you select the Embed Script option in Filters, the program returns an error.

Missing password recovery link Embed Script option returns error

If you reset a user's password, the confirmation pop-up doesn't display the recovery link. If the user can't retrieve their password recovery link via the automated email, you can use the Export Users option in the Batch Action menu to access the user's link as a workaround.
