Variable correlation

When you create a variable extractor or parameter extractor, Tricentis NeoLoad automatically searches subsequent requests in the Virtual User for the extracted value. If the system finds the value, Tricentis NeoLoad offers to replace it with the extracted variable. This automatic correlation helps you handle dynamic values throughout your User Path.

How correlation works

After you create a variable extractor:

  1. Tricentis NeoLoad scans all requests that come after the extractor.

  2. When the system finds the extracted value in a subsequent request, a correlation dialog appears.

  3. Choose how to replace the value with the variable.

Replace options

The correlation dialog provides two options:

  • Replace all: Automatically replaces all occurrences of the value with the variable. After the replacement completes, a window shows the number of occurrences replaced.

  • Replace manually: Opens a search and replace window where you can review each occurrence and confirm replacements individually. Use this option when you want more control over which values to replace.

What's next

After correlating your variables, check your user path to verify that the variable extractors and correlations work correctly.
