RealBrowser system requirements

Note: RealBrowser protocol capacity for parallel VUs is strongly linked to the availability and speed of the CPU. Consequently, if you run your RealBrowser test at scale, ensure that the LG host is free from other processes that may take CPU. Some antiviruses and antimalware can impact CPU usage too, especially in Windows environments.

Supported NeoLoad versions

RealBrowser is available on the following NeoLoad versions:

  • NeoLoad (GUI, Controller, LG) from version 9.0.

  • Docker image for RealBrowser LG at: neotys/neoload-loadgenerator:real-browser-2024.1

  • NeoLoad Web from version 4.0.

Note: You need an internet connection to run a RealBrowser record or scenario in macOS. The first launch can take up to a minute as this allows the download of the browser in a background process.

Supported browsers

NeoLoad RealBrowser protocol covers the most commonly used browsers.

At record time:

  • Chromium

At runtime:

  • Chromium (by default)

  • Mozilla Firefox (bundled with NeoLoad)

  • WebKit (bundled with NeoLoad)

  • Google Chrome (requires a local installation of Google Chrome)

  • Microsoft Edge (requires a local installation of Microsoft Edge)

Select the browser you want to use in the OpenBrowser action.

Browser versions

NeoLoad includes the latest browser versions with each new release. This means that when you upgrade your NeoLoad version, you are generally up-to-date with the latest browsers available.

You also have the option to specify a path to an arbitrary (non-bundled) browser of your environment. However, at replay time, there is no guarantee that this option will work and that issues will not arise - use with caution.

Note: When using the latest Chromium browser, you are effectively 2-3 major releases in front of the Chromium version that is wrapped by the latest Chrome version.
