SAP installation tasks

This topic describes the SAP installation tasks for LiveCompare.

We provide LiveCompare’s SAP components as an ABAP Add-on. You can install the Add-on using either a .PAT or .SAR file. You can find these files in the ABAP_Addon distribution directory.

The ABAP_Addon distribution directory may also contain one or more Support Packs in sub-directories, named in ascending order. You should install all Support Packs should be the Add-on, or as a post-install step. If you install the Support Packs after the Add-on, be sure to install them in ascending numerical order.

What to install

You should install LiveCompare’s SAP components on each of the systems you will be using with LiveCompare.

  • If this is a new installation of LiveCompare, install the ABAP add-on and the SP1 Support Pack

  • If you are upgrading from a LiveCompare release earlier than 2025.1, install the ABAP add-on and the SP1 Support Pack.

  • If you are upgrading from LiveCompare 2025.1 patch 1, upgrade the SAP components to the current release by installing the SP1 Support Pack.

Install the LiveCompare Add-on

We provide the LiveCompare SAP components as an SAP Add-on. You must install this on each SAP system you will use with LiveCompare.

Note: You don’t need to install the Add-on on SAP systems that you’ll only use to run the SAP HANA Migration Assessment app.

Note: If you see the SPAU/SPDD phase during the installation of the Add-on, select the Reset or Reset to Original option to reset the /ICORP/* objects back to original in the SPDD/SPAU process. Don't try to adjust the objects, because SAP will prompt for a valid license for the /ICORP/ namespace.

To install the LiveCompare Add-on, follow the steps in one of the following two sections.
