Install Tricentis ARA

To install Tricentis ARA, follow the steps below:

  1. Download the latest version of the Tricentis ARA installer from the Tricentis Support Portal.

  2. Double-click the file Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant <version number>.exe to open the setup dialog.

  3. Follow the instructions of the setup dialog. If you choose to install browser extensions during the setup, note the following:

    • Uninstall any Tricentis extensions you might have before installing them via the setup dialog.

    • Disabling Auto-Update prevents you from disabling or updating the extensions in your browser.

    • Disabling Auto-Update only works if you have Active Directory (AD) set up on your machine. For more information on this limitation, check these Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge documentation articles.

    • Uninstalling Tricentis ARA also removes all browser extensions that you have installed.

    • Repairing your Tricentis ARA installation automatically re-installs your browser extensions.

  4. Click Finish to finish the installation.

You cannot install Tricentis ARA using its standalone installer on a machine where you already have other Tricentis products installed.

If you already have Tricentis Tosca version 15.0 or higher

Tricentis ARA is included in the installation package of Tricentis Tosca version 15.0 or higher. If you already have Tricentis Tosca version 15.0 or higher, you do not need to install anything. You can start using Tricentis ARA right away.

To start Tricentis ARA from Tricentis Tosca version 15.0 or higher, go to Start->Tricentis->Automation Recording Assistant.
